Should I pull the trigger?

I really love the 40th anniversary car.....although in my current mazda, I'm hooked onto the navigation....

I was looking for a good deal to pull the trigger and I have a dealer offering me 37k OUT THE DOOR including tax, registration etc. for the 40th anniversary car. What do you guys suggest?

Great deal or not?

that is great deal...better than mine haha. I got mine at 40k OTD. go for it yo. however, USDM 40th z's don't come with navs...so if u want navs...go for touring+sport pkg+nav model. u won't regret on getting this car no matter which color/trim u choose.

Go for it!!!

I'm in the same boat as you, the 40th is the preferred model in my sights right now.

How many miles? What's the condition? Any scratches?, body damage? Mechanically ok?

Assuming it is in mint condition, then it could be a good price. Two factors going for you right now, it is their end of the year with dealers wanting to clear their lot and we're going into the winter months, so the market for sports cars are pretty slow. Depending on where the car is located, this could work in your favor. Northern dealerships are probably more motivated to move it. Haggle some more.

However, you run the risk of losing it to someone else, which is what happened this last weekend to me. Had what I would consider a nearly closed deal, all I was waiting for was the carfax report and service records. Was talking with the sales person with less than 15minutes left in their business day on Saturday (closed Sunday). Called them Monday morning and was informed the car was sold late Saturday. After I was asking my self, "How could they sell it that fast?", especially without the salesperson knowing I was working on the deal. Something smells pretty fishy here!

Maybe the final price I had from them was too low and they wanted some way to back out.. who knows?????? Really a big bummer for me on Monday. And how's your week going? :)

Good luck on the negotiations. Can't wait to get one for myself!

If that's new - do it... NOW! Great price, if new.

You can always upgrade to NAV down the road. You'll probably quickly outgrow the stock Bose system.

yeah this is a new car.....would have not thought about it so much....if it weren't for the scary economy.... I have a stable job......but still.....feel like i should be prudent with my money

...well you should help spur the economy then, buy , buy, buy!!!

I'm in almost the situation. I had a dealer close to me offer 37,600 OTD a few weeks ago, but I waited and it ended up selling. I just started talking to a dealer about 200 miles away ( the next closest 40th I could find ) , he has it listed for 35,500 and hasn't given me a OTD price on it yet. Its also tough for him to give me a # on my trade since stopping in isn't really convenient. Not sure what i'm going to do

Just thought I'd let all you guys know that I did indeed go ahead and pull the trigger :)
Got a better deal than I had expected and feel soooo relieved right now.

I've been thinking about this for 6 months and finally i did it! Just drove the car from the dealership to home which was about a 5 mile ride.... will take it for a longer drive tomorrow........ soooo excited!

Can I ask where your dealer is? That's an AWESOME deal. My dealer (here in SOCAL) is asking for 39.5K OTD, I was offering 37.5 then later 38.5 and he won't bite. What's the mileage on the car?

speedreddy 11-04-2010 01:23 AM

I bought it at the dealership in Redwood City....look it up. I got it on the last day of the month......you might still get a good deal. I bought it new...the car had 150 miles on it

Hey that's boardwalk right? I was there on Friday and saw they had two 40th's left. That's a good deal!
