I wont own another auto, that me though, I dont like a computer to be in control of where i am in terms of gears...if i need to hang on to a gear a bit longer i can with a manual.

You know the 7AT won't shift in manual mode even if your bouncing off the rev limiter, just like the 6MT, right?

It does shift down as you slow, however.

Tjai370Z 10-17-2010 01:40 AM

well look at it this way, just so that everyone can be happy =]

the auto;designed for enthusiasts and the manual; designed for perfectionists
ACCORDING TO THE BROCHURE

why do I feel like it should be the other way around?

Stanced370Z 10-17-2010 02:29 AM

IMO it's dumb not to get this car in stick to take advantage of the synchro rev match. I live in Miami with terrible traffic and don't regret 6mt one bit and it's my first manual car. I test drove both and was way happier with the 6mt. I don't think the auto makes the Z less of a sports car but I do believe it makes it a little less fun.

Get the 7spd

BTW
Next time some jerks make fun of you cuz you got a 7spd auto for your Z, tell them its quicker and I can keep both hands on my wheel

ALSO
Tell them to go make fun of the people who drives the Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Astons, Buggatis, and every other supercar that uses auto because its just quicker.

seriously even F1 even uses it these days.
I mean it's one thing when you can have your own opinion and your own personal preference, but when you make fun of other people's car just cuz you dont like it or think you dont prefer it , you have no respect for other cars and enthusiast which makes them a bad enthusiast

sometimes thats what stopping ppl from buying the auto for their sports car even though they want it.
just sad, I know

yep ... mostly tey are guys in rsx's and sentras.. guys who i guess are jelous i just like it cause i city drive alot... much more convent

i came from one of the best shifting manuals in the world. the s2000. when i first was going to look at a local 370z for the first time i knew it was an auto, and was thinking to my self that there is no way im going to get the auto. that is until i test drove it.
this is no ordinary auto. the best thing you can do is go for a test drive on some curvy roads and then decide. btw i bought that auto 370z the next morning:)

one last thing.... MAGNESIUM PADDLE SHIFTERS...=YUMMY

I was agreeing with Ztoon's comment. I have owned manuals all my life as well and I wouldn't trade my 7at.

the 370z is about to be my first manual car too, but how are you suppose to drive it off the lot, when it's your first manual car?
I know the steps to it and everything but you can never really know you can do it unless you do it.

I mean you can ask friends to drive their manual, but you think they really want you to f*** up their clutch?
