Used 2009 MB Touring/AT/Nav/sport

3500 miles (dealer drove it.)

$33999

Good deal or not?

This same place has a brand new 40th for 34999 too so I figure their prices were good but wanted to ask.

TreeSemdyZee 09-20-2010 11:00 PM

It's under Bluebook. I'd talk 'em down. It's basically a 2-year-old car.

optiontrader 09-20-2010 11:03 PM

??? Used 2009 w/miles on it the same price as a new 40th?

I can believe the price on the 40th, but I think the 2009 price too high?

IB 350Z 09-20-2010 11:25 PM

I think $34999 is way to high for the MB as well. Im not sure what a good price is...maybe $31500? It was a dealer demo...seems like the dealership kind of still considers it new. Especially like you said, for a 2 year old car. It is sick, though.

wilsonp 09-20-2010 11:32 PM

Think it's a bit high - paid $32,900 for 2009 with 19K miles, but basically got +$3k on my trade-in, so under $30k for the car. Plus got them to throw in the Nissan 7/70 gold warranty.

I just bought a Pearl White 2009 Base + Touring + Sport + Nav, 6MT with Persimmon interior, from a forum member on here with 11,700 miles. Immaculate condition, looks and drives just like brand new. Paid 28k even, and no sales tax in Nevada when you buy from a private party. I think there are other states where you don't pay sales tax on private party transactions. Not sure about where you live though.

IB 350Z 09-21-2010 12:01 AM

I live in San Diego so taxes are pretty much awful.

So just on the car alone, what does everyone think a good offer is?

IB 350Z 09-21-2010 12:09 AM

Im not really sure how demo cars work. The dealer drove it for 3500 miles so the car is used. But does the dealership think it's new since it's technically never been sold? Anyway I think 31500 is a good offer maybe?

atropine 09-21-2010 12:14 AM

I would say 29-30k. You can always offer them more if you want. Just depends on how much you like the auto tranny and MB color. If those are your favorites, then it may be worth it to you to offer a little more.

FuszNissan 09-21-2010 09:07 AM

29-31 would be a good range. Good Luck

IB 350Z 09-21-2010 04:04 PM

33999 is the price but they told me they could "take $100 off". So I offered what everyone said $31000 and they told me to pack sand. Oh well.

Hard to believe, this day and age and economy, a dealer wont even freaking negotiate on a 2 year old used car.

wilsonp 09-21-2010 04:32 PM

If it hasn't been titled, the warranty will start with the initial title date/mileage, so you do get full warranty.

OTOH, this thread shows in April a fully-loaded dealer demo (possibly 6MT) was $32k with 2k miles. I think you can get a better deal.

Just verified that KBB.com seems to quote high. Used 2009 with that configuration has a SRP of $37.8k - too high?

IB 350Z 09-21-2010 07:15 PM

Maybe I did this wrong but here goes:
Invoice
'09 touring AT $33122
Sport $2602
Nav $1605
Mats $89&$65
=$37483+$720 dest fee=$38203-764 (2%HB)
=$37439-$2500 (dealer rebate)=$34939
$34939 x .90 (10%depreciation for used)
Dealer true cost approx $31500...
Allow $500 profit and $32000'seems fair

But they won't budge off $34000. Oh well, guess they want it more than me.

Flame away!

optiontrader 09-22-2010 05:38 PM

Look elsewhere... I still think around $30k is fair for that car. Guess they do want to keep it a bit longer.
