Is asking for 36K out the door for a touring + sprt + NAV insane?

So I found the model that I wanted from a dealer. The sticker price is 39K.

I'm wondering if I could get it down to 35K-36K out the door. =P

Will this just be insane and get laughed at?

I paid $37,100 + tax for mine with all options. Cheapest I have seen on the board is about $36,700 + tax. 2010 fully loaded for $35-36 OTD is very ambitious.

yeah thats a stretch man....

Jeffblue 08-10-2010 02:13 PM

thats a stretch. its a rare combo. i'd be happy with invoice price on that car. thats what i paid (37.5k) for touring/sport/nav/6spd factory order.

jin84 08-10-2010 02:22 PM

damn, what's the monthly on that then?

WShade 08-10-2010 02:28 PM

I had $12.5K on a trade. 3.99% interest. $500 per month but I will own it in 3 yrs. :tiphat:

+/-1000 dollars isn't going to change your monthly payment astronomically. If this is the car you want, don't piss off the dealer trying to haggle too much, its not like you're going to find another one like it very easily. i'd say ask for 37, they'll probably say 38, then you go 37.5, and you're at invoice. fair price for you and the dealer, no one is getting screwed.

I paid $37.5K out the door for my 2010 MB Touring+sport+nav+MT. But my sticker was $41K ($42K with the dealer attached BS). It had only been on the lot for 2 weeks. I haggled with them for hours because there was an New 09 PW with the same options across town for $33K OTD. I just wanted a black one so I paid $4.5k for Black and 1 year newer.

Taxes and Tag are only $600 here if that makes a difference.

I think you have a great starting point with $35-36K

What I paid

I picked up my loaded Roadster last week and paid $600 under invoice (because it was at the showroom). They wanted invoice to get another one from another dealer (different color). Also, right now, Capital One has money for 36 months at 2.7%. I paid 3.02% last week. They send you a check that you just write out to the dealer.

We just purchased our new 2009 370z with 40miles on it (sprt, touring, nav...loaded), and paid 29k out the door.

You should be able to get them down to 35k otd. I would walk if they wouldnt get there. Sticker on mine was 41k w/ all the dealer bs, and I paid a touch over 36k otd, and mine is the anniv. model.

Sweet! thanks for the tip. I was just approved for a 2.37% for 60m loan from Capital One. This beats BoA by a full point plus no $200 app fee. Only down side is that I have to wait for my "blank check" to be fedex'd on Friday and my car will be ready tomorrow.

Wow!

$36K OTD? Holy crap! :eekdance:

I was happy to get that before TTL!
