I'm ordering mine this weekend :: PG Base + SPK + few extras

I used the information on AK's thread (2009 Nissan 370z invoice Price) for negotiating. All negotiating was done via email, beetween two dealerships. I said the following on the email.

"Like any good shopper would do, I am shopping around for the best deal on a 370Z. So far I am only considering [Dealer1] and [Dealer2]. Whoever gives me the best deal, will get my business. I know if you were in my shoes, you would do the same, especially considering that you're a salesman."

"I've also done my homework on the car, which is how I was able to come up with the figures below. I left out the taxes. Are you able to give me a price somewhere in between the invoice and MSRP totals at the bottom?"

"What is your best offer?"

Base Model 6 speed manual
MSRP - $29,930
Invoice - $28,043

S01 - Sports package*
MSRP $3,000
Invoice $2,602

P93 - Illuminated Kick Plate
MSRP $200
Invoice $148

L92 - Carpeted Floor Mats
MSRP $115
Invoice $89

T94 - Carpeted Trunk Mat
MSRP $95
Invoice $65

Destination & Handling
$695
=====================
Total
MSRP $34,035
Invoice $31,642

Dealer2 responded within the hour and said that he would give it to me for $32,500. I said to my self, "not bad."

Then Dealer1 responded soon after with, "I understand that you want the best deal. So, I am going to make it very easy for you. I will order/sell you the 370Z for invoice. So, you can buy it for $31,642 (give or take a few dollars), plus tax and tags."

I was like, "HELL YEAH!!" :ughdance: That's like $2,393 less than MSRP. I really was not thinking that I would get that.

Now I could still be a [richard] and try to get it even lower by going back to Dealer2 with the counter offer. And if he counters it, go back to Dealer1. But I figured invoice it's pretty damn good. Plus, I figured that I would be helping the economy. ;) I want them to at least make some $$.

So I set up an appointment to meet up with the salesman at Dealer1 on Saturday to place the order and leave a $500 deposit.

Finally, thanks AK for posting that information!! I probably could not have done it without you. You're my HERO. :rofl2:

Damn bro, congrats on a sick deal!
Still looking around for my Pearl White Base with Sports or fully loaded...
Jersey is whack...

dlmartin81 02-18-2009 12:12 PM

^^ Thanks man.

Why don't you just order yours. This way you know you'll get exactly what you want. The downside is that you'll have to wait like three months. But you can live with that. You'll be glad you did once you get it.

takimbe 02-20-2009 10:32 PM

This is the email I sent to dealers. Got some positive responses so far, but still working on a deal. hope it helps!

XXXXX,

I am looking for a:

black/black base
7AT
sports package
kick plates
splash guards
floor mats

We are both looking to get a profit/good deal, and I want to be up front as possible, so I am proposing that you take the price YOU pay for the car I want (not invoice, definitely not sticker), add 4% profit for you, and let me know the number you come up with. Add 695 delivery charge, 7.75% tax, 320 licensing, titles, fees, and then give me a bottom line out the door price.

I can tell you right now that I won't entertain anything over 35000 flat, as that's the offer on the table right now.

My phone number is 5302203933. I prefer email because talking on the phone is hard when i'm working. Look forward to your response. Send me an offer!

Kim

I placed the order on my Z today. Salesman said two to three months.

Just to recap, I'm getting a PG manual Base w/sport package + floor/trunk matts + illuminated kick places for invioce ($31,642). I placed a refundable $500 deposit.

Congrats! What color interior did you get?

dlmartin81 02-21-2009 10:37 PM

It seems like you're unaware but you can't choose the interior color on the base model as you can on the touring. So it's whatever comes standard on the base model, which is like black or charcoal, I'm not sure. It's nice enough for me.

Surf City Nissan
17331 Beach Blvd
Huntington Beach, CA 92647

I dealt with a guy named Oleg Lana via email. Heres a revised version of the email I sent him:

I am looking for a black/black or Blue/Black BASE 7AT (no touring), with sports package, kick plates, splash guards, and floor mats. We are both looking to get a profit/good deal, and I want to be up front as possible, so I am proposing that you take the price YOU pay for the car I want (not invoice, definitely not sticker), add 4% profit for you, and let me know the number you come up with. I can tell you right now that I won't entertain anything over XX,XXX flat (thats with TTL), as that's the offer on the table right now.

That's a great deal from Surf City Nissan. You should definitely follow through. Is Oleg a General Manager there? General Manger is making the final call on the deal. I would ask Oleg that you want to talk to his General Manager.

takimbe 02-23-2009 07:05 PM

he is not the general manager. I will keep on it and let you guys know what happens.

tru_Asiatik 02-23-2009 10:41 PM

fyi (same options takimbe have minus splash guards)
just got an offer 35648 OTD(millernissan)
what do you guys think

seems expensive i gave them the same parameters you have in yor email thats what they got
i was thinking should be less since i want a 6MT

what should i counter offer?

takimbe 02-23-2009 11:54 PM

spoke to the dealer. pricing mistake on their part. they are willing to let it go for 35500 out the door. that includes TTL and shipping. and thats the price of the car at invoice...i guess invoice is the best i can get at the moment. sigh.

so almost the same quote i got :(
takimbe its funny how were both from so cal looking for almost the same thing and i read you where going to put 12k down guess what me too hahahaha

names marco btw:hello:

takimbe 02-24-2009 01:08 AM

My names Kim  yeah, if you really wanted one, Tustin Nissan has the exact car we are both looking for, but they are asking 36500 for it, which i told them no way.

I might just order it, because 2-3 months is another 4500 saved for the down payment. Keep me up to date on how your search goes or if you find better deals than I do. Also, dont put more than 500 down on an order. I have heard dealers start at 2k, then later I just ask if i can put 500 or 250 down and they relent...

my emails kim.a.nguyen@gmail.com. Give me yours and ill keep you updated also on my search.

Im from San Diego btw

dlmartin81 04-20-2009 09:39 AM

The package is on its way!!!

I just got an email today from the dealer saying that the car has been built and is in transit. :happydance:

The ETA is the week of 06/05/09. :icon14:

Why sooo long in transit. I mean I know it's coming by boat but still.....that's like 6-7 weeks. Damn, talk about a tease. Has anyone been told by their dealership that the transit wait was going to be this long? And did it actually take that long? I'm hoping that it didn't

dlmartin81 06-05-2009 02:44 PM

I FINALLY picked her up last night. The car is gorgeous! I love it.

I'll try and post some pics whenever I get around to taken them. But there's probably no sense since we all know what a stock Base PG Sport 370Z with kick plates + matts + splash gaurds looks like.

dlmartin81 06-14-2009 05:02 PM

As promised, I was able to take some quick photos this weekend.

:tiphat: Enjoy...
