can't find a touring manual w/sport with nav

does any body know why its so hard to find a Touring manual Z with sport plus Nav?

Nick911sc 05-19-2010 07:11 AM

I'd assume because this is one of the most sought after combo's for the Z

Jeffblue 05-19-2010 07:53 AM

most people that want a fully loaded car wanted an automatic, or an infiniti g 37. I'm pretty sure the majority of people on here with that combo, myself included, had to order it from the factory.

I've seen a few like that here in TX, most recently a used one at Courtesy Nissan in Richardson.

Just ask your dealer to locate one.

:iagree:

But be wary. I had a dealer locate a Z just like mine a month or so before I bought mine. Because he found it one state away, he acted like I should just take a bs price. On the phone, this salesman acted like he was my savior, all because he took 15 mins to search online and was willing to drive 2 hours. A month later, the same exact car rolls off a truck at another dealership in the area, they give me a price 1500 dollars cheaper, throw in wheel locks and a car cover, and we have our winner.

Another option is to use cars.com or the locate function at nissanusa.com. nissanusa's search is a little clunky, because you have to switch dealers and it clears your search metrics from time to time, but it's not unusable.

I was just in the market for this exact same combo and had to eventually order one from the factory. That's your best bet, as I was told by numerous people at Nissan that the 2010 370z's with touring, 6-speed and sport package had more or less been re-assigned for delivery as 40th anniversary Z's. This is why they are so difficult to come by concerning the '10 models, and why almost every single dealer has a 40th on the lot.

I also had 3 separate dealerships check their incoming order list and none of them had any Z's with touring/sport package coming for the next 2-3 months in white, silver, or graphite.

yah, when i went to the dealer to pickup my Z to buy last summer, first thing the sales guy said to me was they only had MT's left in-stock... AT's are all soldout.

i said perfect. :D

I got a 2010 370z MT fully loaded but the only reason I got it is because I ordered it. You can see what's coming in the pipe line for the dealership, usually u can jump in the system 1-2 month before the car arrives and semi-config it. This beats custom ordering the car from scratch. That way you can have a MT Touring with all the options. The dealer had the exact same one in December 09 and I didn't buy it until end of Feb I decided I want to buy it. The car took delivery on April 2nd, 2010.

Dealers always tell people they search all over the US inventory and they can't find any, but of course they don't ever see what's coming into the pipeline for all the dealerships. Hopefully this helps. I even got mine under invoice.

alejo 05-19-2010 05:31 PM

besides working with the dealer to try and locate one, is there another way to directly talk to nissan to see about getting one and for invoice as well?

I could be completely wrong, but unfortunately I don't think there's another way because Nissan's website only search for existing built inventory of dealerships and does not show what's coming in the near future because they want to keep that stuff private to dealers only as their projected plans can always change. Nissan expects you to go thru a dealer to make a purchase and not through them.

The only way you can find out is to talk to a dealer (and sometimes they don't even know or know but don't want to go through that trouble for you). But for the ones that can help, they can possibly search what's going to which dealership, and usually they can trade with other dealerships and have Nissan (Manufacture) route that configured car to that dealership (or the one you desire to make a purchase through). Just keep in mind, dealers will always look for incentives for them to go through that trouble. Don't be surprised if they ask for above Invoice.

Alejo,

I just sent you a PM. I saw an '09 Monterey Blue Touring with MT, Sport, and Navi on nissanusa.com near Panama City, FL. I went to the dealer's website, and they didn't have it, but it might be worth calling them. I don't think Nissan's corporate site would have the bum info compared to a dealer's... But I could be wrong.

oh yea, forgot to mention, what's showing in the Nissan website isn't everything that's exists in dealership that aren't sold. Once the car is delivered to a dealership, there are ways dealerships can hide their inventory from being searched through Nissan's website.

Just FYI....so I would encourage to go into a dealer. However, you shouldn't have to take a walk around each dealership with the sales guy either, they could run a search for you instead. It pisses me off whenever they do that whole "let's walk around our lot to see if we can find it" - it's like "you either have it, or you don't"

But in this case, the model is at the corporate site, but not on the dealership's site. It may be worth a visit/call. Worst they can say is "no".
