Potential Z Buyer, help!

Hey you guys, pardon the long post but I need some help:

I'm looking into an '09-'10 370. Hopefully, I can find a leftover '09 to get a better price but, I may have to sacrifice something (paint, package, etc). The 370 I'm hoping for is a White Touring, 6MT, Navi & Sport. I looked into this before and the two dealers treated me like a child because I'm young (20) yet knew more than they assumed I did (thanks to this site) and were charging me everything MSRP. I have an '08 Civic Si w/20K on it and looks showroom still, minus a few small rock chips. More than likely, they'll offer me 14-15K for it, again. I'm trying to private sell but doing that is like trying to sell a house in this economy.

This will be my second go at trying to see if I can get a Z in my price range, I guess my question is, what advice would you recommend? The MSRP from Nissan's site is like 37K for the car the way I want but what do you think I could get it down to? My finance rate through the credit union I deal with is 4%.

Besides the spreadsheet with invoice and MSRP prices that I found on here, what else should I bring/know?

Bring your ability to walk away.
Stick by your guns on your price, if within reason (which is around invoice on current models), and know what you want which it sounds like you do.

Yeah, I walked away before with no problems. I love my Si. The only reason I'm looking back into the Z is because I have 7K I'm about to spend on a S/C for my car but why would I do that if it could help me afford the Z. I'll bring my father this time around for a little more bargaining power, lol. I also learned a couple lessons from some articles. This isn't my first time buying a new car, just sucks because with my Honda, we bought 5 cars from that guy.

Dealers always give you crap when your young, Im 19 and got the run around so many times its not even funny. They wont take you seriously until you pull out the pocket book

^ agreed. I didn't have any problems buying my Z (I'm 22 and haggled them down to $1880 below invoice). I did let them know that I was serious about buying the car that day and showed them the money...after that it was smooth sailing.

Where are you located? I saw exactly what you are looking for this past weekend and it was a leftover 2009 at what seemed to be a good price. I was seriously considering it but decided to get a 40th Anniversary instead.

Good luck, big upgrade from the SI, enjoy the car and also the car payments hehe

try to talk to the dealers online by email (not phone) before you go,they will bring down the price to get you to the dealership.
tell them you know the car, you do not need a test drive(you will get a test drive anyway before you buy it) and you do not want to go to the dealership before the price is good as it is a waste of time.
I got mine about 2 weeks ago 09 with almost 7k off MSRP.
Good luck with that.

I think it will be hard to find the specifications you wanted. I am currently searching for the same thing but I think i can going to settle for a 40th anniversary edition because they said there was only one "Touring+Sport+Navi+6MT" in the west coast of the USA... I don't know if they were lying but i have been hearing this setup is very difficult to find at this moment.

You seem to be in a similar situation as me.

I have an 06 RSX-S with 23k. I bought it for $22,600 as the only VBP (blue) in the state when I was 18. I walked it the dealership looking as scrubby as possible. I pondered around and waited for the first salesmen to approach me. I knew that they would be not only the most 'desperate,' but all the best to deal with as they are not snobby etc (as this is an Acura dealership not a Honda/Nissan, etc.).

Now I'm 23 and graduating this week with a Master's in Accounting. I have almost $10k into my RSX in style, suspension, sound, and a bit of performance, but I am buying a 370Z next. I just can't see spending $ on more performance mods on a FWD car. The only benefit is that I can drive in snow; however, that's what beaters are for in Chicago!

Keep your hopes up though! GLWS:hello:
