Why are there no 2010 Z's at the dealer?

Considering getting the Z. Did a quick search of Z's on the lot at two dealerships in south jersey. Noticed a ton of 2009 but hardly any 2010!

What's going on?

NJ is a seasonal state, they'll be out soon

This, the dealers will probably have some roadsters (I don't know why they got the roadsters in the winter, makes no sense) but no coupes. Coupes will probably be coming later this month or may.

Roadsters came out as 2010 models... so I think it's the same as the left over 2009 coupes...

You will be able to find some 40th's, as those were produced in one run, if your willing to pay a little extra...

from what i hear they will be hitting the dealerships in large numbers in may.

Mid May you will see a ton!

fullmonty 04-18-2010 05:11 PM

But what to do with the ton of 2009s still sitting there?

The '09 Zs will sit on their lot till someone purchase them...

That makes sense that we are a seasonal state. I was afraid they were holding shippments of 2010's to the dealers until they sold all the 09's

I know there are still a lot of '09s available in a lot of places but it is interesting to look at the trims that are left. Most of the '09s I see are auto transmissions and of those, most are either base or touring + sport. It seems pretty likely to me that base + sport + MT was by far the most popular combo in '09 as you pretty much aren't seeing those left anywhere. I wonder if Nissan has a set number of each combo they manufacture or they looked at what combo sold the most in '09 and if that has any influence as to how many of each combo they will manufacture for the '10s?

fullmonty 04-19-2010 07:23 AM

I know my dealer won't be ordering any blue ones based on the trouble they have had selling the blue 09s

elmz 04-19-2010 02:15 PM

Well if they can't sell the 09's why would they order 10's?! The only change is a cabin filter, so I wouldn't be so quick to disregard the 09's. Do you really want to pay 3k just for a cabin filter?

sascuderi 04-19-2010 07:07 PM

Since I'm looking for an Auto (no flames..i'll get my suit) with touring, maybe I should try to get a deal on an '09?

Any idea on what an '09 will go for this far into 2010??

koeppelnissan 04-19-2010 08:23 PM

The 2010s will be out in 2 weeks up here. Mine are almost all spoken for, but send me a PM to let me know what you want!!!!

I have to say all the cars I looked at lately are NEVER on the lots (Jeep SRT8, Corvette, 370Z...they either have NONE of ONE)

Makes it hard to look at these type of cars if they don't even have them IN stock.
