Buy off of a lease

I'd like to buy a 370z touring after someone has leased it, but I can't seem to find when the 2009 z was released. Also, (for those who are leasing right now), has anyone leased a z for 24 months? I see mostly 36-39 month leases being offered, which would mean I would have to wait another year to get a z. I'd be skeptical to buy a used z right now, since it could be lemon. Any ideas?

The first 370z was sold January 2, 2009, that was the official launch date in the US.
Buying used right now can be good if you know what to look for, a lot of people bought a Z and then had to sell it back because they needed a family vehicle or it was to expensive, etc.

Not saying that is bad, but makes a good opportunity for people buying used.

I'd like to buy one for under 30k if possible, because a new touring runs around ~$35k. I found a 2009 touring w/ sport package for $35k (used, w/135 miles), but I'm not sure whether that's a good deal or not, perhaps I should wait. Thanks for the advice though.

If its being sold as used then you could do much better on it. Where in NJ are you at?

if the 35K used Z is being sold at a dealership, you're not going to be able to talk them down much, but if that was a private party, i wouldnt give them more than 33K for it.

35k for a Touring + Sport with 135 miles is a good deal. But if you're sure you wanna go used, wait it out a bit longer, you may find an even better deal.

i mean someone sold that practically new nismo 370 for 31K, so IMO its not that great of a deal, but it aint horrible. id look for something more competitively priced

If it was being sold new, I'd say its a good deal. However like you point out, if its being sold used you should do better.

It's being sold at a (nissan) dealership for 34.8K, I'm assuming it was a showcase car since it has no carfax.

I concur haha, I may opt for a base with the sport package instead. The almost looks naked without the spoiler.

yeah i could never really justify the touring myself because of the mods I do to all my vehicles, and if you're like me, then it makes sense to get the base over sport. i always throw in an aftermarket setup, so no point in paying for bose, i like aftermarket navigation systems (double dins, apart of my sound system), so no point paying for nav, and a nice set of racing seats will surpass the touring leather. just my 2 cents

i'm assuming you're talking about the 09 white at somerset nissan, it was a test drive car =)

been looking at 370s recently, used ones, and i cant even seem to figure out what you get from the touring? since nav is another option beyond touring, is the bose and the leather the only thing you get extra with touring?
is the LSD apart of the touring package or do you have to have sport to get the LSD?

mjch3n 04-21-2010 05:10 PM

the vlsd is only part of the sport package. the touring includes leather, bose, bluetooth, the homelink rear-view mirror, aluminum pedals, and rear cargo cover.
