another should I thread

deal or no deal? 09 PW on black 6 M/T. Everything except lit kicks but has clear bra on front bumper and 1/3 hood. 2989 miles, clean car fax. Looks clean but I have not seen in person yet.(2 hrs away). I can get it for 34002.50 OTD, which includes all fees and 7.5% tax. I'm in no hurry, just itchin to get one.

cossie1600 03-24-2010 07:15 PM

It's used car. You can get a touring with sport for 33500 right now

koeppelnissan 03-24-2010 07:49 PM

We have a 6 speed Touring that I'll move for 29900! And it's new!!!!!!!!!!!

debogard2 03-24-2010 08:37 PM

thanks for the replies. a couple of issues. This car has everything, 6 speeed M/T, Nav,sport, splash, all mats. Not sure but assume no lit kicks but does have clear bra. clean car fax. It is 2 hrs away so i have not yet completed the up close and personal test. what they have offered was 33500 including all fees and taxes. Caveat is I live in Ohio, they are in KY. difference in tax is 6% KY vs 7.5% Oh. so they want me to add the difference (1.5%) that woud bring the total to 34002.50. Now, I have lurked a long time and I know that NEW 09's are on average going for invoice minus 1K. This car, as my math has it, would have been 37,165 (including destination). Minus 1k = 36165. minus, (Now this is wher i'm not sure) 3K for depreciation = 33165. I believe with the low miles NADA has this listed as 33800 clean retail. I gues the big question is I can wait but should I jump. I should add, I do want a touring 6 M/T, nav and sport.

you get charged the tax of the state you reside in, not the state where you purchased it!

cossie1600 03-24-2010 09:15 PM

On a fully loaded one, try 2K minus invoice

debogard2 03-24-2010 09:40 PM

88: I understand this. They were willing to pay all fees but since I live in a higher tax state they want me to pay the difference. in this case 1.5% or roughly 500$ . This is also where I get a little confused. Do they take the money then pay my state or give me some kind of reciept to take to the DMV? never bought a car OOS before.

1600: Not sure I understand. U say NEW 09's are going for 2K off of invoice?

Are there any new 2009s at nearby dealerships that you can shop for prices. On the face of it, as loaded as it is, it's not a bad OTD price. Since KY borders OH, the dealership may register it in OH for you ... not sure. If not can't see why they'd be asking for the extra tax.

debogard2 03-24-2010 10:27 PM

Thanks Zaggeron. Yes I've been busy looking and comparing. Nobody close to me is willing to give the kind of deals I've been seeing in here. And yes, that tax issue has me confused. definitely something that needs cleared up for me.

@koeppel got any pics? nav?

If my 40th deal falls through I want a loaded touring sport 6MT.

370Z JT 03-24-2010 11:57 PM

If its what you were looking for, the price is great IMO! i'd buy it.

I have a buyers order in hand for a 2009 for $3,049 under invoice + $250 doc + $35 tags + tax. New Yellow base MT Sport.

You can do much better than this deal, just have to be willing to travel a bit. The car is 2-1/2 hrs from me, but is absolutely worth the commute to get it.

Expand your search area and look for a high volume dealer with 5 or more 2009's on their lot. They will make excellent deals right now.

Yes, but the car he is looking at is touring trim with sport & nav. Touring and Nav add almost 6k to the invoice price

Thank you for all the insite and guidance. Well, after more disscusion with the sales manager, the car would indeed go for 34002.50 out the door ( this does include all fees, Ohio taxes , etc.). the thing is, now I find out that the mileage is 4900, not 3000. Seems the general manager was using it. Kinda took the wind out of my sails a little bit. Oh well, I was on the fence anyway.

Those 1900 miles the GM put on the car are worth at least $5000.00 way to go GM :ugh2:
