Going lower than advertised on 09 w/sport pkg

So, there are 2 Z's that have the options I want... Base automatic w/ sports package +/- floor mats and splash guards. 1 is advertised at $31320, the other at $31115. My question to everyone is how much lower is a reasonable price given that is is already mid-March, 2010? Is $30,500 acceptable or am I going to be laughed out the door?

schrack150 03-14-2010 12:15 AM

could be reasonable.....i guess it depends on the dealer/area I got mine but its not auto for 31,200 then with taxes and everything it came out to 33K

If I was you, I would offer $30K,then work up to your target price.

FuszNissan 03-14-2010 07:19 AM

30,500 for an 09 is acceptable

NCSUPACK09 03-14-2010 08:43 AM

I would offer $29.5k and work up to a $30K max. That would be right around 2K below invoice, which is where you should be at for a 2009 model in mid-March.

sylenze 03-14-2010 04:19 PM

i would ran ur offer by danny at fontana nissan since ur from so cal and they're one of the forum sponsors... got my Z from them last year, and they are very reasonable and great to work with...

Got my 2010 for $1,366 under invoice - I don't think $2,000 under for last year's model is asking too much.

Damn, you guys have some crazy dealers. 1300 Below invoice. i am speechless. VPP???

NCSUPACK09 03-14-2010 07:13 PM

Lou,

I got $1920 below invoice on my 2010 without VPP and without having to buy any additional warranty packages. This is why I know people should be able to get at least $2K below invoice on an 09.

Damn. That is insane, I am truly mystified.

Davetmml 03-14-2010 10:13 PM

Thanks for your responses. I plan to walk in with 2,000 or 3,000 cash down too. I'll let you know how my negotiations go.

370Z JT 03-14-2010 10:24 PM

Davetmml. what color are you looking at? I know a dealer. PM if you want.

Davetmml 03-15-2010 09:29 AM

Over the weekend one of the dealers called me twice, and when I checked my email this morning, I found 3 emails from them as well. I would guess they are anxious to make a deal, yes?

NCSUPACK09 03-15-2010 10:36 AM

Yeah, sounds like it. Good Luck.

I just bought an 09 Base AT w/ SP with a retail of $35,285 for $29,939 + tax/lic. That was their advertised price. I was also given a price of $29,555 from another deal in a color I was not interested in. Hope this helps.

No VPP. Just did a lot of homework and shopped around for about 4 months until I found a dealer that would give me the price I wanted. I started out going through my insurance company's vehicle buying service. Their service partners with dealers that will give members at or close to invoice or less. Of the dealers I checked that were partnered with them, Vaden Nissan in Savannah, GA started out at the lowest price of $1,066 below invoice. After looking at things for a bit the guy came back in and said he could drop the price another $300 - so I didn't argue. Other dealers were right at invoice and the next best price I was quoted was $299 under invoice.

Davetmml 03-16-2010 09:46 PM

I got a quote over the phone today for an 09 base AT with SP & splash guards for $30615. (2100 under invoice). Should I take it and run, or go lower??? I'd have to fly to pick it up and drive 350+ miles to get home. Any comments would be helpful. There is a dealership closer who I would prefer giving my business to, but not sure how flexible they would be...I plan on buying this weekend one way or another.

FuszNissan 03-16-2010 10:01 PM

Take it and run!

I used USAA as well. They did well by me and the Dealer did even better. I have absolutely no complaints.

Well, I bit the bullet today & purchased my 09 Base w/ Sport Package from Fontana Nissan. Not quite as low as I had hoped, but an acceptable price nonetheless. I highly recommend them for anyone in the SoCal area looking at a 370Z. Very friendly staff. Big thanks to Eva, Eddie & Joanna for making the buying experience a pleasure.

NCSUPACK09 03-20-2010 06:50 AM

Davetmml, for the "Drives" section of your profile, automatic is a 7 speed not a 6 speed.

Congrats on the new car!

Davetmml 03-21-2010 10:44 AM

Thanks. I was so excited to update my profile, my fingers must've been shaking.

Crazy8 03-21-2010 01:19 PM

I gave $35,200 for mine. The only thing it doesn't have is navi. They also threw in a bra, storage bag for behind the seat and a storage box for the hatch.

I came in a bit late on that day and didn't get a chance to meet you. Glad everything worked out for ya! Our Fontana Nissan staffs would like to thank you for your business.

Congratulations!!!

Davetmml 03-22-2010 09:50 PM

Thanks Danny. When I'm ready for accessories, I'll be hitting you up.

hdskull 03-26-2010 01:41 AM

Congrats on the new car!

I was wondering with these low prices, do you guys have to pay it off right away? Is it possible to finance the car and still get these prices?

Thanks!

cossie1600 03-26-2010 12:16 PM

Yes, just get yourself pre-approved at NMAC (they prefer that) or other banks. I like Think Bank, their rates are excellent except they require a lot of paperwork at 10% down + sales tax
