What should I pay for a NEW 09 Touring Z with Sport Package Manual

It is a coupe 6 speed with Sport Package, mats, rear mats, lighted scuff plates, and Nav.

The 09's MSRP is $40,660
The Invoice per Edmunds is $37,148

I was looking on CarMax because they own a Nissan Dealership and they have a few NEW 09's at their Nissan Dealership and they are pricing their remaining 09's for $5467 off of sticker.

That is well below invoice. I didn't notice any rebates, so they must be giving the holdback as well.

Any comments???

What difference does it make how they get to the price? If they'll do it, take it.

Make sure you also get full value for your trade (if applicable) and a competitive financing rate (if applicable and depending on your credit). Make sure add-ons, extended warranties, gap insurance, paint sealant, etc. are not being used to make up lost revenue. Then, make the deal. If you kick tires, or don't have your down money ready, or need to fix something on your credit report, or some other such flaky business, don't be surprised if the deal is different when you come back.

Bro.. i would seriously look at going used. You can find 370zs with everything you want for up to maybe 3000 less than Kelly Blue Book has them listed for. Most have less than 3,000 miles and are in perfect condition. Let someone else take the hit, save yourself anywhere from 6 to 9 grand!!! My brother just got a used white touring 370z /w sports, pristine condition, 2300 miles for 34, 600 out the door. Thats a good 4 to 6 grand cheaper than new!!

I was in the same boat as you. I took a look at the left over 2009 370's at the local Carmax just down the street (Whitemarsh) and they're pretty much giving all they can get to get rid of last year's model.

That said HOWEVER:

I really wanted a BLUE one and they only had a RED. Another local Nissan dealer (Jones in Bel Air MD) had one exactly as I wanted. I told them that CarMax had the same car for pretty much $5000 below MSRP, but in Red. They immediately bested CarMax's price by $500 on the spot >with< $3500 site unseen for my trade in (99 miata with alot of problems).

So you can really get a good price on 09 left over's now. I got a blue 09 Touring (no sport or nav), 6MT, Splash guards and floor mats for about $29,995 (MSRP $35,515) just last week.

@yubman

how many miles did the red one have at the time you went to take a look at it?

update:

NM my above comments.... the red one at carmax had about 26 miles on it... i just bought it this morning... i mean i couldn't find a deal for 2300 off invoice... at other dealer... so i ended up buying that Z (09 Nissan 370z Touring Solid Red M6) for 32.5k out of the door... i hope its a good deal...
