New or used?
well I got a dealer that has a used 09 with sport 6spd for 29000 OTD or new Pearl White (my favorite) sport 6spd for 31,864 OTD. the used car is Brilliant silver with only 1100 miles on her (don't know why anyone wouldn't want it?)
what to choose what to choose. they are giving my 18k for my 350z in trade. any insight on which one to look more into picking up? I'm right in between and stuck... yeah.. it sucks, but i'm finally going to pull the trigger. |
i think u can get that used car even lower, maybe 2 grand less.

I would go with the new Z, never know what happened with the used Z and those 1100 miles.
|
that is a major factor and I plan to keep the car a while and knowing from day one where its been and done is important, and I just love the pearl white... now I just to explain to the wife on why there is a difference. Plus it would look nice sitting besides her new White Pathfinder

What yr was your trade in and how many miles?
|
07' base with 18000miles figured not bad for sight unseen and over KBB
|
go for the new z, pearl white is so freakin sweet:rock:who know's who and how that used z was handled. who knows if it was properly broke in!!!!
|
what's sale tax % in VA ?? that's a great deal, I'm on a deal with the dealer in MD and OTD price is roughly $32,500 for base + sport package

07' base with 18000miles figured not bad for sight unseen and over KBB. I'm currently looking to trade my 04 350Z with low miles in on a 2010 370 and I'm only getting a trade in quotes @ $12,000.
The $18,000 is a real good trade in! If you are happy with the price for the car I would pull the trigger |

I would def go w/ the new one, you have no idea what the previous Z owner did to the car, and why he got rid of it so quickly. Don't believe the dealerships. Ever.
|
I would never buy a used sports car of any type. There are exceptions (ex. you know the guy, he has extensive logging of the car, etc) but for the most part you have no idea how well/hard/balls deep the car was driven on a daily basis.
That's just my opinion though, you'll get others saying the opposite. |
You have to ask yourself why the used car was turned back in. I'd go with the new one.
|
Id go with the new one too. They are relitively the same price, and the new one is your favorite color.
|
go with the white!
lol i got offered 15k for my grand cherokee at one dealership in pa the dealer here in morgantown offered 22k lol |
New cars depreciate sharply in the first 2-3 years of ownership. When you buy used, you're getting a reliable, already-depreciated vehicle at a much better price. According to CR, Zs are "Much Better Than Average" (both 350s and 370s). Take every factor into consideration, my friend. Good luck!

well after I went and looked, had the whole dealer number thing change a little and frustration rise, I sat there ad had both cars side by side. I for one loved white and own a few white vehicles, but same time owned silver and love silver sport cars. Making mistakes before on purchasing used I told myself I would not. I was able to get carfax, and the owners info on how and why the used car ended up getting traded it. short story DC traffic and was the extra vehicle. (I soon found out this is not exactly perfectly suited for DC traffic later on with moving 5 miles in over an hour) I looked over the used on as meticulous as I could looking for anything any type of defect, paint scratch/chip, interior scratch etc...
After doing many upon many professional detailing jobs and seeing about all I could, I found only one 3mm long rock chip in the front bumper. I couldn't beleive how clean it was, not even scratches on the driver side kickplates. With only having 807 miles on it, and possibility to save 3,000 (make wife happier) I sold myself on the Used one. They even already changed oil and did the 1200 mile maintenance. saving me the thought of extra material build up during break it etc. as that was my biggest worry. I finally got it over 1200 miles and for the first time let her rip myself. Man, completely different then my 350 Z. Now I'm compiling my plans for mods for hitting VIR this year if I'm still around. Pictures soon to follow. |
