Employee price vs invoice

So, I'm talking to a couple of dealers. One is offering a 'special' employee price.

Is this a *real* special offer, or some BS...? I mean, I've got no idea what the the actual price being offered actually is yet, but I'm wondering how an employee price typically compares to invoice, if there is such a thing as an employee price...

Cheers.

"Employee price" is typically invoice + a fixed fee, certainly not half off of MSRP. You can probably do much better right now with the left over 09 stock, many dealers are letting them go for well below invoice.

That dealer sounds like a BS artist of the highest order. And then I don't understand what you were saying after 'msrp'

Ah, cheers! Oh, I'm not looking for an 2009. I want a 2010 because the colour combo I'm interested in isn't available any more in the 2009. I know there are some bargains to be had in the 2009 models, but I won't settle for any other colour combo.

:)

I would shoot for a price right at invoice on the 2010's. The dealers like the employee pricing program because it doesn't take away from their stock allocation. Take a copy of the 2010 invoice prices (from the other thread or from edmunds.com) and see if their "employee pricing" can beat it.
