Anybody special order their Z?

I have been in contact via email with a nearby dealership but have not been able to answer my questions but pass my info along. Im going to be ready within the next few weeks to purchase a new 370z and Im pretty peticular with what i want color and options wise. Just wondering if anyone had any experience ordering a z to their liking? Like what kind of timeframe for delivery and deposit? Im willing to go out of state if I have to to get what I want as their are no 370z's nearby with what I want. Although if im able to get one nearby that would be ideal. Thanks

not really different from any other car. most dealers have a window about 3 months, sometimes 4-5 months for special order. u need to put a deposit down.

honestly though, this time of yr (or august) u should look around wat cars dealers have on their lots. probably get a good deal.

A dealer transfer is another option though.

Get the Nismo Tec. You will not be sorry. At the end of the moth you can get a god deal.

I order mine from the factory.

Ordered at the end of February - got it at the end of May.

Had mine trucked from Houston.

Ordered late October ... arrived early January ... picked up late March ... first drove in early May after snow and road salt disappeared.

Last year I ordered mine I only wanted black and there was a shortage in base model Zs in my area all together though... took me 2 months to get mine but I came straight from Japan and I'm the only person who has ever driven it which I like so it was worth the wait... also like someone else mentioned I went at the end of the month to make the purchase and I got a slightly better deal
...happy shopping

I ordered my Nismo the day the 15 was released for pre-order, I believe it was mid August, took Delivery December 20th. I didn't have a trade since I sold my G outright so it was fairly simple. Went in made an offer, put down a small deposit, and waited.

Sounds about right. I put $25,000 down on mine, but the deposit was relatively small considering the fact I ordered with no financing lined up at the time.

Find a good dealer that will look up incoming Z's with your preference. I doubt you are as particular as I am. I buy my cars fresh off the truck, dealer to not wash, drive or pull plastic off. Only to do their "safety" inspection (which for Nismo models they fail to take the spring locks off everytime)

Anyway the car if produced in Japan will take 60 days if it hasn't been made yet add another 30 days+. The dealer can get updates if it's left the harbor in Japan and an expected delivery date. Mine was delivered on the exact day they expected it.
I was able to find a dealer that had a Black NISMO on route to their dealer and my dealer intercepted it and traded with them and had it delivered to their dealership rather than the other dealer. This shaved off the extra 30+ days of waiting for one to be created.

I'm in BC, and my experience was as follows.

Went to BC dealership, who had ONE brand-new gun metallic in stock but scratched. When I wanted a perfectly pristine vehicle, they started becoming difficult. Eff that ...

Went to an Alberta dealership, who didn't have gun metallic, but ordered one from another dealership (in Saskatchewan).

Miraculously, the vehicle changed from gun metallic to pearl white during shipping .... who knew that could happen just by putting a Z on a trailer.

Bottom line, even though I didn't want it, I got a Pearl White (which I've grown to like), and the dealership threw in a lot of extras to make things right.

Total time from signing to the right of the X to the time the car was delivered: 9 weeks and change.

P.S. Edit: I put down $10k.
