whats the procedure for..

Living in canada i have a hunch that the Z will come out to way over my budget do to the over inflated canadian pricing. SO my idea is this.

What would be the basic procedure to purchase a car and bring it over from the states?? what can of taxes and fee's come into play? Becuase i know these are going for alot cheaper in the states already as it is?

Thanks:rofl2:

Check out Importing a U.S. vehicle | Importer un véhicule des É.U. to start.

In summary:

1.) Purchase car and pay roughly 20% more due to the dollar difference
2.) Do paper work and custom forms and purchase insurance
3.) Fly down or ship the car to Canada ~ $1000 to $3000
4.) Pay 6% duty fees and 5% GST in Canadian dollars at the border + RIV
fee
5.) Get the car inspected for Canadian registration (see RIV)
6.) Find a local dealership that is imported US car friendly for service
(good luck)

A quick cost estimate would be $52,000 Cdn + GST (2600) for a 370Z coupe touring with sports package.

I hope that answers some of your questions
