Touring with Sport pack

dealer offers me 35500, 09's. has 500 miles on it.

is this good price?

Invoice for the Touring model by itself is $32,639.00, add 3k to that for the Sport package, sounds about right, I'd try to get it down to $34,800. I think they'll work with you because its the end of the model year and they need to make room for the 2010's.

:iagree:

You're in the ballpark but you should be able to do a little better.

Edit: I'm assuimg the car is still being sold new even with the 500 miles. If it's being sold as used (previously registered) you should be able to do much better.

From my experience new cars at the dealer with a few hundred miles on them were ususally driven by the dealership management as their take-home cars. These guys drive to work and back like the rest of us, and for the most part it's unlikely the car was abused. The extra miles should be worth something in the deal, however, like accessory or maintenance credit (ask for something specific you are interested in - example: oil changes).

just this weekend I got quoted 35000 for touring/sport/nav.

Ask for $1000 off...$2 for every mile driven. And I bet those 500 miles were not done with any regard for a proper break-in. Probably test drives by people who were never gonna buy a Z and just wanted to beat the snot out of a sports car for 20 miles.

That is a decent price, but that is a LOT of miles. That thing must have been one of their first Zs, hasn't sold and has been test driven many, many times. Or someone took it home. Do you know how many people beat the crap out of cars on a test drive? Almost all will take it to redline on the first couple shifts out of the dealer's lot. Not to mention the hard braking tests.

I'd offer $1500 below invoice. If they won't bite, keep in mind you can walk away and buy a new 2010 Z for invoice at the right dealership -- it will be worth more and be more refined than an '09 (won't be first model year). You have to assume the car has been BEATEN for at least 1/3 of those miles.
