Headlights: Yay or Nay!
 

Just picked up the Z. I blacked out my housing earlier this morning. I can't decide whether I like or not.

At times, I think it looks bad *ss and sometimes I think it looks :icon14:

I'm planning on powder coating the wheels gun metal down the road so hopefully that would blend in with the darkness. Meanwhile, I can't decide if I like the black housing or not.

Yay. Definitely looks meaner. Now if you black out your fangs in the front, it will look really aggressive

Id say plasti-dip or have you emblems painted. The chrome emblems is probably what is throwing you off since the headlights aren't chrome anymore.

…you have to add more black to the car. Emblems, fangs, door handles, wheels, etc. It'll look great. I'd like to black mine out with a little yellow in there but until I start with the paint of other parts, it'll have to wait.

IMO, should have kept the projector shroud silver so it doesn't look like a black hole.

Yea that was my first thought. I kept mine silver to make the headlight stand out more.

Based on the shots you posted, I like how it came out. Black out your fangs to round it out. Don't over dip. How does it look to you up close?

I'm not completely on board with how it is now. If you paint matched the shrouds...it'd be perfect. I know a lot of people do it like that on here, but honestly it's the best looking way to do it.

It looks good up close. It does stand out a bit more only the fact that everything else is silver.

I like it, once the wheels and emblems are done it will help the theme flow more, now you are drawn to the lights because its the only thing different and dark.. agreed!

just looks off because you've done nothing else to the car. Get some wheels, black the emblems, diffuser, etc.

if you REALLY do not like them I will swap you my oem ones with a fair deal for the bofth of us! On second though I hate it...

I went through the same thing on my PW car. It looked a bit off to me because everything else on the car was stock at the time. I eventually got black wheels, emblems, and door handles and now I love the look. By the way, I prefer the all black housing instead of color matching the projector surround. Looks mean :tup:

I dont like pure black wheels but I recenlty Powder coated my Stock rays and i'm in love. The color is called Thunder Cloud Gray

If you are taking apart the head light...might as well add Morimoto white led halos as well. Looks so sick driving down the street...downside is that it catches a lot of attention.

Just needs the wheels black and she'll look fine...but get on that ASAP. Just tell people you have your winter wheels on for now....

How is your vison and light projection at night with them darkened? I love the look but my old eyes need to see too.

I'd have to agree with everyone suggesting more dark parts (fangs, vinyl roof, wheels, ect.) what's nice about lighter cars is the contrast pops and turns it into a real neck breaker. However don't go crazy with plasti dip it'll make it look cheap in my opinion. Looks great regardless :tiphat:
