That can potentially look very good if created, those parts would look good with LED's there.

XwChriswX 04-08-2013 11:40 PM

I say send it to Nissan USA to add to the collective ideas bubble for the next concept Z.

Dzel 04-09-2013 02:08 AM

Diddo it would make the Z very exotic looking

DriftKr6l 04-09-2013 02:23 AM

Great Looking Design Buddy!!

Damn that does look niiiiice.

DIGItonium 04-09-2013 02:33 PM

It can be done with some cool fab work with Plexiglas diffusing the lights. You can stealthily mount a strip of LEDs behind or underneath it. Just think about light diffusing panels in LCD backlights.

For the covers, you'll need to mold some plastic or fiberglass. Sand, and then paint the whole housing satin black. If someone can do CF housing, I'm sure this can be done as well.

In other words... do it!!!

XwChriswX 04-09-2013 10:08 PM

Only recommendation I can say with this is get rid of the dimples if you do it...

nmjaxx9 04-09-2013 10:52 PM

Looks like a job for 180 customs.

I quickly modified your image as this is what I always imaged it should look like or some version of the boomerang as the light signature. More of a solid band of light versus the landing strip (which I think is also cool).

I also added a front view image. This should be on the rear as well and would make a strong statement and would look very new and exotic I think.

I hope some company or someone will make an aftermarket lamp like this for the 370Z.

I have other ideas that I would like to see made as aftermarket parts. I just want someone to make them...

i would buy this

370ZRR 04-10-2013 07:07 PM

When I get a sec i ll do a quick rear view. At night you would know its a 370 from front or rear if it made the boomerang shape.

I'd buy it also if someone does it right

That looks a lot like what Lexus and Chrysler are doing right now... that's the only downside. :(

Dallaz 04-10-2013 11:35 PM

Both of those designs are pretty sick.

Mr&Mrs 04-11-2013 12:15 AM

Looks good. I know a guy that done this style lighting around his tail lights on a 350z, it looks killer.

Amuse370z 04-11-2013 02:56 AM

It costs like $300 for customized headlights, if someone made the boomerage revised edition I might as well buy that.

I bought Superlux LED lights for around that for my Genesis and they make a huge difference.

DIGItonium 04-11-2013 08:15 AM

Remember the old days of crummy aftermarket headlights for Hondas? Some of them looks cool, but one had to deal with non-working adjustments, fogging, discoloring, etc.

Below is an example site where you can find acrylic sheets that supports edge LED lighting:

Mr&Mrs 04-11-2013 04:37 PM

I do not and he recently sold his car, well......maybe 6 months ago. I will see if I can get some from him or someone else in the club.

At first glance, I thought the ones you made are very similar to the Clear Corners version:

Mr&Mrs 04-11-2013 05:01 PM

Here are my buddies tail lights from his 350z. In person they did not look like individual LEDs but for some reason in the pic they do.

nope and it has been 4 years since model changed and we have nothing
frs/brz released not even year ago and they have cool tail lights and alot more body kits available :shakes head:

370ZRR 04-12-2013 01:53 AM

I agree there should be more aftermarket options for the car. There are some nice bodykits like amuse but there should be more companies doing really nice alternatives. Ive always wanted to design a few body kits and have a company build them in carbon.
