All,

Well my factory order got delivered, 1 month early! This would be great, except that I am still on deployment for another month... so my WIFE had to pick it up and put the first 60 miles on MY CAR! I made her take pics for me, and am posting some of the normal pics we see everyday as well as some pictures of parts of the car that I don't see posted on here too often: (i.e. center console ports, behind passenger seat storage areas, tire/rubber pattern, interior light, gas cap, etc.)

Enjoy (can't wait until I can), :happydance:
Brian

btw, the last pic shows my poor car next to my truck.... waiting in the garage for another month to be driven. arghh.

No man, she promised she won't touch it! I taught her how to drive the MT long ago... she's a good learner. It sucks that the car had 8 miles on it and she got to enjoy the first 60 while she drove it home! She did a great inspection, too. I gave her a culmination of all the inspection lists I have seen on this forum. She stuck to it!

Nice ride! Is that price before tax, license, and paperwork?

That was with all included - however, military in South Carolina pay no sales tax on vehicle purchases.

Thanks for all the compliments, guys. I am bringing the titanium shift knob home from Japan to put on. From the pics posted from others, sounds like that will be a pain. I am looking to order the Eibach springs, 15mm spacers, and camber adjustment arms right now so I will have a project waiting for me.

Already set up a 3m tint appt in Charleston, and having the 3m bra put on, too.

Thanks man,

Yeah, I am pretty happy with the deal. We are looking for a 2010 Armada for wife, and will probably purchase through Military Auto Source. The catch is you have to be deployed when you order it.

If you did, then I will be VERY jealous! After hours of hard decision, I decided to do the NAV first. I love this titanium shift knob. Looks amazing too!

My ultimate setup would be THIS shift knob along with B & M short shifter   :excited:

Who's doing the 3M bra Brian? I had to go to Charlotte and have my Charleston bra removed, and a new one installed. Wasn't happy with the job the local guy did at all. Guys in Charlotte did fantastic work. Pm me if you'd like.

AK, no, I went with the one the JDM shift knob they use in their GTR Skyline. It is raw titanium with a star bolt that screws down in through the top. Also threads on to the base. It's shorter and a bit wider than the other Nismo shift knobs I think.

John, I actually am way ahead of ya. I called them based on your high praise write up and got a quote for 3M tint and Bra. After the quote, I told him I will be interested in the tint, but am going to try to do the bra with a friend (already bought the kit). If that ends in an epic failure, I will also do that through him.

Best of luck, if you end up letting them do any work for you, I am sure it will be first class. Hope your clear bra application works out well for you!

What I've Noticed in the First Two Weeks...

ClearBra is a must. Put mine on myself before driving to North Carolina and back... would have hit a lot of debris.

The break-in period is a PITA. I couldn't keep under 4k rpm.

The blind spot is no joke. I am not even sure why there is a window aft of the b-pillar!

I have yet to scrape anything on the front end... even with the chin spoiler.

27% Tint is not nearly as dark as I thought it would be.

The car is much wider and sexier looking from the back than pictures can express.

I am 100% confident the shift knob can be removed without damage. I heated mine up with a hair drier for only about 30 seconds, but still caused some damage because I used a channel lock. (expecting to ruin it from what I've read). Turns out, the thing rotated with very little effort... Probably could have done it by hand? (I have strong forearms :) )

15mm wheel spacers are definitely enough for me. Lines up perfectly I think, even has a little lip of rubber hiding over the edge.

The Eibach springs... wow. looked at the front and couldn't even compress the spring. Can I just take these springs to a shop and have them installed? Pep Boys? I dunno...

So you got your z for around 39,000 after taxes and titles right?

6MT 07-31-2009 10:00 AM

Congrats!! (Same as mine except for the Nav)

k20z3 08-01-2009 02:52 AM

Be sure to read my thread and give reps for keeping the clear bra clean! :)

bloodo 08-06-2009 07:13 PM

Brain, could you post up another picture of your car with tinted windows. I want to have an idea what % I should go for my car. Mine will be in PG also.

Thanks,
