Hit me up before you spend $800 on something crazy. I'm pretty in-tune with people's camera needs.

Also, Best Buy price matches. So find specific camera you want. Find the best price online (thats not a private seller). Then go into best buy and speak with the sales rep about the price match.

I was able to lower the cost of my Nikon D5100 to $499 or something close to that and Best Buy originally wanted $599..

Good luck!

That's awesome! How did you do the light effect?

Ron 10-23-2013 02:18 PM

It's a 10s exposure. I walked behind the car with the flashlight of my phone while the shutter was open.

Then you edited yourself out of the pic, like they do with a rig shot?

Ron 10-23-2013 03:39 PM

Nope. On long exposures, as long as there is no direct light shining on you and you move quick enough, the camera wont see you.

The aperture on the lens is so small that the sensor on the camera needs more time to "collect" light in order to get a clear image of the subject. So if you are not a source of light and are moving, you are invisible!

Of course, there are a lot of factors affecting the result, but you get the idea. :)

Yep...this technique is used alot in the studios in Detroit , and with the company i used to work for. Sometimes if you dont' have the motion light as we called it, we would use Lightroom and Photoshop to create this effect using the outline. :) Very nice job Ron! :)

Ron 10-23-2013 05:16 PM

Thank you! I want to do it again but with better lighting and see if I can get a steadier outline. This was an improvised shoot with my roommate lol. Here are a few more from that night

Ron, how did you post process the image to make it look like a fish eye , or did you use a fish eye lense on a DLSR with tripod for night shot? Just curious... Nice job too!

Ron 10-23-2013 11:35 PM

Thank you! I shot those with a Sony NEX-6, a fisheye lens and a tripod. The profile shots with a 50mm. No photoshop, just small color corrections in LR5.

I thought so. Nice Job on the Sony NEX 6. Lens and Tripod set with a good F Stop and Aperature along with 7 to 10 sec shutter speed create some amazing pictures at night for sure. Nice jobs on the corrections in LR5. I love that software.

Ron 10-23-2013 11:43 PM

Yes LR is awesome. This is just a hobby for me so I don't worry too much with post. I've opened photoshop maybe twice since I installed it lol. Here's my Instagram if you wanna check out some of my other pics. Instagram
