Very nice!

What all did you get?

6spd 04-24-2012 08:37 AM

I got a canon 320exii flash, 2 YN-560 flashes, 2 stands, 2 umbrellas, and remote triggers. Got the canon flash as a gift, bought the other stuff for less than $150, new too! The YN's are manual flashes, but they are optical slaves and work great with the triggers.

memorylasts 04-24-2012 08:47 AM

Your better off with manual flashes anyways, I never use ettl it is on its own program. Nice pickup!

6spd 04-24-2012 08:50 AM

Thanks! Yeah, plus ettl is super F'in expensive! The manual flashes are so easy to use!

Link to my shoot with just the canon 320exii, on camera:

Very nice. Sweet looking pictures & very clear. You can take pics of my ride too if you like. I used my iPhone to snap some pics, but no justice at all compared to your pics.

Thanks! I really hope to take this hobby professional soon, just gotta get some more experience under my belt first. Not bad for only a T3i and stock lens.

Bri7Synyster 04-25-2012 08:44 AM

Great shots, baby :) You always impress me with your photography skills!

From someone who has shot for magazines... Don't hold your breath on that. Keep it as a hobby; you'll have a lot more fun!

The 1st shot is a bit cool in terms of color temp. The others look pretty good.

I don't know whether that should be taken as an insult to my ability, or as advise that going pro loses it fun-ness!

Nah... your ability is great  But doing something professionally takes the "hobby" out of it. And therefore some of the fun too.

I'd say the 1st shot is perfecto... however careful when shooting white as some of the highlights are blown out it seems in the other shots.

:tiphat:

Thanks! I find that when using the flashes versus ambient lighting, the flash shots don't show the details in body lines because the extra light kills shadows that make the curves apparent. Does that make any sense?
