Awesome shots. For some reason that garage looks familiar, but I have never been to FL yet..............
|
They came out nice man.
|
Awesome pics! Love those wheels!!
|
nice pictures, so much so that a few of the shots are now saved to my computer for wallpaper backgrounds for my iphone and laptop,
makes me reconsider having gotten my z in brilliant silver,:( |
I'm glad to hear you guys like the pics, we take these for fun & also for the community to enjoy
|
Not bad Jon! I need to get an SLR
|
Its amazing what an extra $10-$12k in mods will do for your car lol. They are the same car but totally different.
I never relized how much better amuse rear looked then stock. Its a perfect comparison with two white Z's |
cars look good, the wheel choices on both are great
|
Great looking cars.
I don't like a lot of the photos though, a lot of composition issues and the whole off kilter camera orientation doesn't work if the car's not in motion. Photographers tilt the camera in order to give the viewer a sense of speed in a still frame, however, the rest of the picture needs to imply motion as well. If the picture is dynamic but the object is still then it looks like someone has a problem lining up their horizon rather than purposefully manipulating the viewer's perspective. |
Great looking pics & Z's. I've never been a big fan of the Amuse, but it white it looks very nice! Nice work gentlemen!
|
lookin sharp guys!

Not bad results since I just bought the camera four days ago. Plus the only lens I had on me at the time was my 70-300VR, so I had to take alot of the pictures farther back then I wanted to. Thanks for all the compliments guys, we appreciate it as we did it for the community, alil rep couldn't hurt tho ;) |

The cars look great. |
I didn't really use the AF system too much, I took most of these manually focusing myself. This is my first SLR, so the more I use it, the better I'm getting. Thanks again for the advice.
At the next photoshoot I'll have my painted headlights, a different lens & hopefully some models ;) |

Noice pics!

The 3rd one from the bottom is hands down the best! Great work
|
I got my headlights painted, & already bought a better lens. Just gotta find some models ;)
|
Nice pics...
I've had Nikons all my life and you have made a wise choice in cameras (and cars)! I just picked up a Nikon D7000 (to replace a Nikon D70) and I've only had it a week. Now that the leaves are changing, this time of year is perfect for "car shots". I could also get all "technical" about your photos, but a photographer is an artist and no two are alike. If you enjoy your pictures the way that they are composed, then that is all that matters. If your friends and forum members enjoy them too, well that's just icing on the cake. As you get more familiar with the Nikon, your pictures will get better as well. Nice job! |
They came out ok because I was stuck with my 70-300mm lens, so taking pics was difficult & I had to get creative. I have a nikon 5100 & just received the 16-85mm lens, which is what I'll use next time. This is my first DSLR, & only had the camera for a week when I took these pics, and have never taken photography classes.

beautiful cars and pics... I thought that was Boca Raton for a minute...but realize you are from naples.
|
sick *** pics
|
Those TE's look insane!
|
Nice Pics!! Keep it up, I have a Nikon for myself too!!
The 16-85 and 70-300 will cover almost all the range you need. Next lens you might want to get is a Marco or Ultra Wide Angle. |
I love my 16-85. It rarely leaves my camera. I only wish it were a tad faster.

Surely, f/2.8 is always attractive. |

It really depends on what kind of pictures do you shoot mostly, I was shooting a tennis tournament one time during the night session, even the aperture was set to f/2.8, I still have to push the ISO to at least 400+. Some of the f/2.8 is not that $$$, there's a 35-70mmf/2.8 from Nikon, retail for about $500ish, it's an old model, no motor, but the picture comes out top notch. |

I would love to get a fast telephoto lens as well, only problem is they are big $$. The night shots I took at Petit Le Mans were taken with an ISO of 25.6k. I didn't want to go that high but it was the only way to get something decent. Anything lower and all i got was blurry shots. If anyone sees a 200 or 300mm lens for a nikon at a good price, let me know :)
|
25.6k is pretty high, I usually just keep mine at 3200iso, ive been using my 16-85mm non-stop lately, I only use my 70-300mm for close up things, landscapes or things my 16-85mm cant reach.
Im getting better at learning the settings, I use the "P" professional setting now instead of auto, lowered the flash alittle bit as well. Angles & lighting are everything, still need to learn more tho. |
It depends on what I want. When i was shooting the cars at petit le mans, I used the shutter priority mode. I wanted to make sure the speed was were I needed it to be to get a useable shot. Once it got dark due to the aperture I was forced to use at 300mm the only way to get a decent shot was by cranking up the ISO. When I have the time, I prefer to use full manual. I find it more fun to experiment with the settings than letting the camera try to figure it out.
