Well that played out just as I predicted for the Z

458 is such an awesome car

YamahaR6 08-17-2011 06:55 AM

That's one fair race...

wstar 08-17-2011 08:37 AM

Well, we know it's a "play nice" race for the camera and they're not trying *that* hard, but still, I think the 370Z fared better than I expected in that matchup. Looking at the final times, on average the Z was only 0.64 seconds behind the top car (458 Italia) per lap. And you could buy an armload of 370Zs and spare parts to race with for the cost of racing any of the others :)

Fastfatdude 08-17-2011 10:40 AM

wats the fairlady doin inside? its outclassed in all aspects (including price).

mantella87 08-17-2011 01:06 PM

I beat a Ferrari in Forza with my 370z.

christian370z 08-17-2011 03:16 PM

^Haha, a win is a win in my book. Forza > Real life

Amuse 370 isn't that far off from the vette.

wilsonp 08-17-2011 06:30 PM

The NSX is definitely lacking in performance these days :(

No one seemed to be passing on braking, I guess because they were being careful.

Oh you're right, I didn't see the little "Best Lap" text up there, for some reason I thought that was overall. I guess I should have noticed how low the times are though :)

are you dreaming? how that horse can get beat. never heard like this before. i'm really proud of you man :tiphat::tiphat:

elmz 08-18-2011 10:10 AM

So sad...the Z got thrown in with wolves.

fuct 08-18-2011 10:39 AM

i take it the Amuse 370 had very minimal performance upgrades.

(good thing there was snow on the ground. would have hated to see the 370 pull over after lap 3 cuz of limp mode):stirthepot:

The Amuse Z did 1:04 around Tskuba. That is great! I was very encouraged just to see a 'full bolt on Z''s time around Tskuba. Goes to show a tuned Z can be pretty quick around the track. As I recall that time is faster, by at least a second, than the fastest CaymanS lap time; it is probally comparable if not faster than the CaymanR/1M. Not too shabby for a couple thousand in mods and still being cheaper than both the Cayman and 1m...

red6spd 08-18-2011 11:01 AM

Thank god for this video. I now know I have no chance against border line race cars with 4 5 600+ HP. Fewwwwwwww that saved me alot of embarrassment.

Amuse Z34: Amuse engine tuning, headers, hi flow cats, front pipe, and catback (titanium exhaust components), coils, tires.

Thats all...

That is Tsuchiya's personal NSX, so you know it is not stock.

fuct 08-18-2011 12:48 PM

it held its own with the NSX, im satisfied about that!!!!!

Yeah, exactly.

chii370 08-21-2011 10:34 PM

That was the biggest bunch of ******** ive ever seen, im sick of vid after vid discrediting the Z by outclassing it on purpose. That amuse car is built yes, but is still nowhere near the zr1 or italia in hp/torque. Even the damn nsx pulled away like the Z was at a stand still and everyone knows stock for stock the 370 "had" more horsepower...... What does that mean? There afraid to put a 750-800 horse z against the zr1 or the others just in case a 30k car might make there precious 100k+ supercar babies look like a waste of damn money. Seriously, get fair or dont do it. Ive seen 1000 horse skylines that cost An 8th as much as that damn italia and would make it look like a joke. Each car should be equally built to within 50 or so horsepower so we can see which is actually the best all around car pound for pound dollar for dollar.

wilsonp 08-22-2011 05:35 PM

The 370Z has a lot of power, but there's more to going around a track then power :)

The NSX-R weighs about 2800 lbs, versus the 3340 of a 370Z while making 290HP (manufacturer's claim - some speculate more) versus the 330 of the 370Z, with an excellent torque curve (though the 370Z is nothing to sneeze at).

In a straight line, the NSX-R stock is 12.7 sec in the 1/4, so faster than my automatic 370Z :D

So it's not surprising that it is faster than the 370Z on a track.

chii370 08-22-2011 11:57 PM

That nsx is not stock.... Thats his personal car, u would have to be batshit insane to think that. And the amuse Z is just all bolt ons, exhaust, cold air intake, tune, suspension, brakes so on and so forth so its probably not making any more HP then a stock nismo 370. And they put it up against a 700 horse italia and a 625 horse zr1? Thats retarded. Thats like puting a civic against a vayron just because the civic says type R on tye side!!!!! Its just a fantastic way to make a great car look like complete garbage. And every race they put tge 370 in they do tye same thing, purposly outclass it. No, turbocharge it to the same horse as that italia and i bet u it would have won, if not placed second. Even the damn nsx was at least tuned to be competitive, why not the z? Amuse just insulted themselves, at least tuning companies like hennisee and shelby make the car BETTER then the best offered stock car, why is this so hard for import tuning.
