Yeah, they rubbed a bit with the offset of wheel that I have.

I agree with previous post...more pics please!!

I think that's the price range for a full wrap, sometimes even higher. The labour involved is pretty extensive and specialized.

if i see correctly, you didnt wrap the mirrors? did the wrap not go smooth enough around the curves? id imagine that would be real difficult. Also, how close were you able to get to the edges in the bumper and the separate panels? Looks to me like your car was black in the first place so you prob wouldn't notice if the edges weren't perfect unless u look real close. Just curious in case someone was flirting with the idea of going for a completely different color than their car

also, how much extra vinyl did you have when you were all done from the original 25 yards? sorry for all the questions. take it as a compliment cause i only ask cause ur car looks awesome :D

Jon@AAMComp 05-18-2011 03:48 PM

Sinister. Car looks really good mate!

fairladyZ34 05-18-2011 05:04 PM

I did have the mirrors wrapped perfectly but they looked like the cheap plastic ones on low end cars so I decided to take them off and actually quite like the contrast.
All of the edges are wrapped perfectly and in my opinion is a high end professional grade install. I'll take close up pics of some edges this weekend.
I have many years experience installing paint protection film so this was just a fun project for me.
I had a few extra yards left over enough to do a couple of additional panels.

SICK. I think this is the route I may eventually go with my Z; Flat Black! I also have the Top Secret front. So, why did you wrap as oposed to paint?

Kingbaby 05-19-2011 05:51 PM

cheaper!

resale value!

Hmm. Makes sense. How costly, difficult is it to reverse it?

And Kingbaby, your Nismo 350z is hawt.

I just find myseld staring at your pictures and drooling for way too long. Great looking car. I wish I had the skill to wrap my own car..

BlackZeda 03-19-2012 09:07 AM

The car looks incredible but I am wondering how it is to clean and maintain that vinyl finish. Do you treat it like paint? Can you use a random orbital polisher?

ZCarMan 03-19-2012 05:45 PM

That matte black kicks a$$!

This. I got quoted before from a guy on a matte black wrap and he said you can't wax it or anything (obviously, different products you can, etc.). This is what made me stay away because I enjoy cleaning my car, maintaining it that way, and it helps me relieve stress. It's my baby.

Yeah, I can totally relate. That would be a deal break for me too. I think I will just wait and do some custom paint. I like the flat black look, but a good tasteful paint scheme can be just as cool.

Thanks!

Elysium 03-19-2012 08:56 PM

Yeah, kylebucket is right and you can't apply any wax or polish the vinyl. There's different reasons why you would vinyl wrap as opposed to paint. The main benefit is that it's not permanent and there's a lot of color choices now. Since I can install the product myself it's a no brainer.
Thanks again for the props!

ufoz8mycow 04-05-2012 06:42 PM

This is awesome.... Matte black looks so good on these cars. I wish I knew how to install the wrap myself, for 400 bucks I'd be changing colors every 6 months.

KyleBucket 06-17-2012 10:29 PM

Elysium, how would you rate upkeep on a 1-10 scale (10 - worst compared to stock)? I have semi-harsh Winters in Jersey and obviously Canada is rough...have you gotten salts and stuff on it?

Does everything hold up well?

864Zbeast 06-17-2012 10:40 PM

That's so sick!

Z33KLF 07-11-2022 06:40 PM

sooo nice

SeeThruHead 07-11-2022 08:05 PM

10 years, i wonder if this Ontario Z is still out there.
