Cooltoy... any pointers for PS? I just picked up a copy and am looking at learning about it.

Depending of what exactly you want to do.

Probably best if you do some Photoshops and I can look at them and let you know how you can improve them. By PM of course.

If you are into creating something from scratch, then I can't help you there, as I am not an artist, but if you want to modify existing images, I can help.

Would you suggest starting out with one of those "photoshop for dummies" books? Literally, I have no idea where to even start

I kind of learned on my own. I just played around with different tools. Adobe has some on line tutorials. Youtube is also good. All depends on what you want to do.

Nice work. Very realistic. I like it.

Maybe add a bit of a reddish hue to the shadows to match the actual shadow colour (like under the wing). Then you would not be able to tell the difference between shopped and real.

Pick the colour of the shadow with the eyedropper tool under the wing and then use the bucket at around 10% transparency, tolerance of maybe 5-10 and start filling the shopped shadows until it reaches the right hue. Might have to undo a few times and change the tolerance up or down until you get a proper fill with our filing too much or too little.
