Import Tuner 370z Video

Cool video I found on youtube.
He's on our forums too judging by the decal on the side.:hello:
I also see team streetdreamz?
lmao @ his face expressions.
Stillen's Stage 1 Power Package includes:
1.) Stillen Generation III Cold Air Intakes
2.) Stillen Catback Exhaust
3.) Stillen High Flow Cats
4.) UpRev Tune
Done @ the infamous EFI Logic aka Subbie Legends.

Well done video!

But what the hell was up with all the flying sparks?

xdeslitx 03-10-2011 12:36 AM

don't the numbers seem too high considering his mods??
especially since it's a mustang dyno which for the most part puts out lower numbers

CrownR426 03-10-2011 12:50 AM

^ No.
The catback + hfc seems right.
The Intake was a total fail, they said a certain number but it did not produce that.
Also the tune result wasn't that much in gains.

xdeslitx 03-10-2011 12:52 AM

^ 326 at the wheels after the tune seems like dynapac numbers...not mustang dyno

with his mods

CrownR426 03-10-2011 12:57 AM

Dunno EFI Logics only has dyno mustang.

xdeslitx 03-10-2011 12:58 AM

LOL doesnt matter...i dont even know why i brought it up

djpathfinder 03-10-2011 01:23 AM

Roughly 284 HP baseline is a little high to begin with too, no?

lol yes but not really important...seems like numbers were inflated for the sake of the video

djpathfinder 03-10-2011 01:32 AM

agreed! 27 HP gain with exhaust alone???

i think thats exhaust + HFCs
lol but we're not experts

just from my understanding...mustang dynos give the lowest numbers...and the end numbers seem very high to me

CrownR426 03-10-2011 01:42 AM

Yes 27 = CBE + HFC

From the Stillen CAI install. You have to dremel out a little bit for the intake pipes to fit. That's why I'm not doing it. Also, the low gains. You an get that from HPS hoses and drop-in filters

Bottom line is that he gained 42 whp with bolt-on's and a tune. That's pretty sweet for a N/A high revving set-up. You could maybe squeeze a little more out with a lightened pulley but not really necessary. Once the VVEL is cracked I think a lot of people will opt for Long Tube headers because you'll be able to get a lot more top end out of them. Maybe 340-ish whp along with the above mods.

Also, stillen pretty much shot themselves in the foot by sponsoring this video since it shows that their CAI yields minor gains when paired with the HFC and cat-back. I'm sure you'd get the same with hps hoses and K&N filters with this set-up

Regarding the intake fail, it isn't...It seems the order they installed and dyno were: exhaust first, then LTH and intake, and then tuned. It's commonly known that HP gains with more than one bolt on is not additive (17 HP + 11 HP does not equal 28HP when combined together). You yield the most HP gains with the first bolt on. Plus, the small amount that you have to trim is no big deal.
