pretty poor showing for the z, but i predicted that from the beginning!

EazyD 02-20-2011 11:18 AM

yeah he got pwned. Didn't want to ruin it in post 1 hehe

Nitrouz 02-20-2011 11:30 AM

The Z got owned because it's a Nismo. :stirthepot:

I am not surprised at the results but I still love my nismo.

alvinmathew88 02-20-2011 02:00 PM

Anyone care to explain, why? Other than possibility of AWD vs RWD?

GonGo 02-20-2011 02:30 PM

Well, The 370z nismo is the only N/A, RWD and not limited production car of the bunch.

-The EvoX Ralliart is a beast at 1:03 time don't know why it had such a bad start.
-The STI Spec-C and 205 are factory tuned models
-The TTRS is twice the price of an nismo.

The nismo always has traction issues on that track, check the slide at 3:00.

It looked like the the driver in the Z needed more seat time before they filmed this. But this is what usually happens when you race an AWD car with similar power.

Dan Z Man 02-22-2011 06:21 PM

that was like legit embarrassing to watch. the Z just got spanked..

:iagree:
Did you see his launch and his shifting?!
:icon14:
I'm not suprised at the result, just look at the competition...
Turbo stock + AWD.
At least the Z lost to some worthy opponents IMO.

All kidding aside, I'm disappointed at the outcome. However, keep in mind all the other cars are AWD. In the first lap, you notice the Z's tail end going loose on a few corners, and also the driver wasn't taking the best line in all the turns either...so was he having a problem with say, cold tires? Was it the driver's driving style too?

Dan Z Man 02-22-2011 09:15 PM

Idk about all this "they're AWD blah blah blah" if anything, they're heavier (or atleast should be, i think our z is a chubster) sti's have crazy more understeer (atleast that's what i've heard)

i just think that the Z really isn't the best competitor out there, don't get me wrong, i love my car, but come on, that was just silly, talk about a spanking.

yes i get they're AWD and they exit corners faster and what not, but RWD cars should be "nimble, good turn-in, etc etc" idk about you guys, but looks like the Z just gets sh!t on.

kind of a side note, but why is the Z not big in road racing as well? i feel like it's all about evo's/sti's s2000's and rx-7's. is there a reason the z is never really used in such events?

is it really just not that good of a competing car? :/

djpathfinder 02-22-2011 09:31 PM

Well, when you slip and slide around a corner and have to let off the throttle, or don't take the apex tightly, like this guy did, you lose precious time which all adds up. Looks like driver error had a part in this race.

Jordo! 02-22-2011 10:06 PM

Well that was fvcking embarassing :icon17:

The Z exited the final lap long after after everyone else had already parked their cars and moved on to enjoy some post race sake to celebrate their awesomeness :icon17:
