Sorry to hear that, but glad your OK. Thats def totalled. Repairing that much damage would not be safe anyways. Panels can be fixed, but frame damage like that is not worth the trouble. Was your passanger OK?

oboloori 10-12-2010 01:46 PM

Duuuuuuuude. That sucks! Let me know if you're selling any parts. I'm interested in buying a stock spoiler.

Hybrid 350GT 10-12-2010 01:48 PM

Damn! Glad U R OK. U can always get another Z.

Yea thank god the passanger was ok, it was my closest friend and he got away with a few scratches on his arm and no bruises, wasnt even sore the next day.

Rhinetom 10-12-2010 02:01 PM

Glad to see the Z can take a punch. Glad you are OK.

I doubt he can easily remove the stock spoiler without breaking it as some people on here have tried. If he has it totalled, the insurance company technically owns whatever is left of the car. I don't think he can remove parts like that, but I could be wrong.

Good to hear...and hope you get back into another 370Z...

NYBladeZ 10-12-2010 02:24 PM

so if you hit the pole at about 70 I'm guessing you were over 100 when you hydroplaned? I'm also guessing that there were minimal if any street lights and your headlights caught the water to late...

you have to buy the totalled car back from the insurance company to take parts off of it, usually not that expensive and in this case it's probably worth it, im sure the engine/transmission and a lot of other parts are ok.

Generally the maximum speed limit for feeder roads in Texas is 55 with many in heavy traffic areas at 40. Going a bit over the limit?

Sorry for your accident and glad you and your passenger are okay.

mick 10-12-2010 03:01 PM

sorry to hear about your accident. it goes to show that some days, the car should not get out of the garage.

Jason 10-12-2010 03:03 PM

ouch! glad you guys are alright. like others said, that's definitely totaled.

shoopajae10 10-12-2010 03:44 PM

glad no one died..

whats the full story? did you punch it a lil too hard? looks like you're still in 2nd gear. which would make sense to be goin pretty damn fast to reach 70mph. =X

shabarivas 10-12-2010 03:46 PM

wow that hella sucks man - glad you guys are ok - If you ever (for whatever reason) decide to buy back from insurance I am sure you will have a lot of juicy stuff to sell - Let me know if you want to get rid of those headlights - Your Z can vicariously live through the Zs of others!

Hope you get into another one soon!

Sorry for your accident and glad you and your passenger are okay.

I was going a bit over, and was issued a speeding ticket.

m4a1mustang 10-12-2010 03:50 PM

Glad you guys are OK. You were VERY lucky to hit where you did. A foot further up the door and your passenger probably would have been hurt.

Tjai370Z 10-12-2010 03:51 PM

wowww I've seen a few wrecked 370z's here even one that rolled over? and none of them had real serious injuries. I'm really impressed on how the Z holds up, considering the size of the car.
I mean when you are in a car that small like the Z, almost anything that hits you is a big impact because everything is a giant compared to the 370z.

370z ftw!! I bet I'm not the only one impressed.

m4a1mustang 10-12-2010 03:54 PM

The Z is pretty solid, but with a lot of the hard impacts we've seen it all comes down to how and where you hit.

In this case they were lucky to strike the pole with one of the more solid parts of the car. If they hit right in the middle of the door there would have been serious injury for sure.

Waiz 10-12-2010 07:00 PM

Wow, thankfully you're okay.

Gunzero 10-12-2010 07:16 PM

Dude.. I wrecked my Z around 1:00 p.m. today too..
I'm glad you are okay!

gpa7pk 10-12-2010 08:24 PM

If I were to guess... south on feeder from Briarcrest to University or University to Harvey.
Have you ever thought about taking your agressions out on the track? TWS offers some very good Drivers Edge/HPDE events.
I'm attending an event Nov. 13/14.
Take care....

aggressions? little to late to be thinking about taking it on the track. I made a mistake and I am going to have to pay for it. thanks for the input.

djpathfinder 10-12-2010 11:17 PM

Yikes! Glad you were able to walk away from that one.

Trips 10-12-2010 11:21 PM

ClemsonWill 10-14-2010 10:17 AM

Yikes! Definitely looks like you hit pretty hard. Don't worry about having to pay for it. Just be glad that you and your friend are ok. It could have been much worse.

If you do decide to buy back I'm interested in the headlights as well.

cdawg410 10-14-2010 02:40 PM

We all speed a little, and we live to learn. Glad you and your friend are fine.

OP--glad you and your passenger are okay.

Footloose301 10-21-2010 06:15 AM

I totaled my black 370Z, pics in my album. I hit a tree head on and then the car spun and hit a tree on the passenger side. The car still started right up and drove.

370Zstuhr 10-22-2010 02:59 PM

Dang that sucks sorry to hear that are you going to get another 370z? I wrecked my 370 last week but i just bent my rim and scratched my side up

VaGntlmn 10-22-2010 03:22 PM

Ouch!! That is some major damage!!
But I'm glad you all are okay.

On a sidenote: I'm glad the car can take that much punishment (in case I ever do something similar).
