how is it that the tail lights are so lightly smoked every one that i know that has tried doing that has failed?

Mine aren't as light as his, but they are still lighter than most:


They could have been lighter, the paint shop just would of needed to mix more clear with the black paint. I think if you take it to a professional they could do any shade you wanted.

I have a shop down here that always paints my lights perfectly. He can do any color smoke you want. I'm doing the same darkness as the matte Z, it's perfect

Although they did fill-in the exhaust ports (as mentioned by another member here) I too feel that should have gone a step further and done something with the lower portion altogether.

This is still one of my favorite 370Z schemes as it is such a raw statement on one mean looking Z! The custom exhaust must sound outlandish.
