How Top Gear Crashed a 370z

It occurs around 3:11 point of the video if you don't want to watch the whole thing. Its a little painful to watch.

Nissan 370Z news - Video: how we crashed a 370Z - 2010 - BBC Top Gear

Interesting video... though it kinda looked like the other guy drove up on his rear quarter.. Must admit I chuckled to see the pit guy working on the car after the incident. Like every hopeful Z owner.. A little more polish.... it'll rub out!

Stupid Vauxhall.

NYBladeZ 09-08-2010 07:36 AM

He had him on the inside

spearfish25 09-08-2010 08:34 AM

What was with the really abrupt, herky-jerky passing that he was doing in the Z? Right before the accident it's like he's sawing the wheel back and forth, and you can see the car wobble left and right 3-4 times. Certainly not smooth. Not the most experienced driver?

Vegitto-kun 09-08-2010 08:36 AM

Lol why is that vauxhall/opel even keeping up with the Z

from what I have seen he should of been raping those cars.

Yeah, looks like as he was passing he lost the front slightly and may have tapped him.
Though that is no reason for him bumping the Z after that when neither lost control, the second bump was obviously intentional and took both of them out.

red6spd 09-08-2010 08:51 AM

Look like he hit him on purpose. You can clearly see the black car jerk into the Z.

Just a d*ck move.

370zdub 09-08-2010 10:16 AM

very poor driving ability on both parts, that was just dumb.

his was a road car and i dont think the other cars were 100% road cars.

Also some of those vauxhauls could be bathhurst edition..

kenchan 09-08-2010 10:34 AM

those taps look intentional... or his steering wheel popped off. :D

ChrisSlicks 09-08-2010 10:39 AM

The Vauxhall turned into the corner the same place he did on the previous lap, but duh if there is a car there then your going to have to brake a little harder and turn in later. Yes the 370Z driver probably out braked himself and would have run wide but no excuse for that kind of contact. The Vauxhall driver made unnecessary contact earlier as well with a blocking move, the 370 driver should have just punted him right there.

Chris was in the other 370z :tiphat:

FuszNissan 09-08-2010 11:21 AM

vauxhall driver tired to bump him and make him spin out so he could keep going, but it back fired and he took himself out.

My wife tells me I rewind too much. When Nissan comes out with a button that can do that, I'll definitely switch cars.

spearfish25 09-08-2010 01:07 PM

What happened to the video?

chuckd05 09-08-2010 01:57 PM

i would be one angry person if i was driving the 370z ... is that normal for those types of races ?

Pharmacist 09-08-2010 02:08 PM

the fat guy in the vauxhall is a major douche. he clearly can see the 370z in his peripheral vision yet deliberately turned into him anyway. he was probably trying a PIT manoeuvre to spin the z and overtake him to regain the position, but screwed it up. and then he has the audacity to throw a fit on the gravel outside the turn.

by the way, why does the description of the video say they were racing the roadster when it was clearly the coupe?

The description says they drove a Roaster to the track and then jumped into a coupe.

snotrocket 09-08-2010 03:41 PM

WTF? I can believe they let that fat pos get away with that. it is clear that his intention was to spin the 370z driver out. what an a-hole.

BGTV8 09-08-2010 04:55 PM

Do'h - the crash occured AFTER the chequered flag ..... the 370Z driver is a dork for not seeing the chequered flag so this is an entirely avoidable incident. I hope the 370Z driver is pinged severely by the race stewards because this is a "rank amateur" error. No wonder the Vauxhall driver is pi55ed off !!!!

Ummm, hate to break it to you but the Z is perfectly fine for what he did, the Vauxhall deliberately hit the Z.

Because it is much lighter than our Z

JACKPAC 09-08-2010 05:54 PM

He should of raced the 7AT... that way, he would of been far enough ahead to not be in the fat man's way.

The scene with the checkered flag is showing the other 370Z; there were two 370Z's racing.

LMBmikeZ 09-08-2010 06:08 PM

lol I agree the Z should have been leading the whole time, weak driving on all parts!

LOL at the husky dude getting mad even though he caused the incident.

He got passed and should have let him proceed in front of him, what a douche!!

Spec Jay 09-08-2010 07:25 PM

lol the only reason why the driver of the z was apologetic was so that fat man wouldn't eat him.
