Motorweek Sucks

Title says it all.

Actually, looks like they've got the 370z this Friday. It will, like all of their reviews suck very badly, but I will still watch it.

good find though

they really give crapy reviews as in...not much info

klubbheads 02-17-2009 10:34 AM

those reviews are for 90 year old buick drivers.

I still watch it if there is a decent car involved. :)

nogoodname 02-17-2009 10:42 AM

It's so Pro BMW.......... that's why I don't like Motorweek

sbkim 02-17-2009 11:10 AM

Hopefully they will test 7AT - doubt it. Also, let's pray they don't get some geriatric driver who gets 6 sec 0-60 runs as they did with G37 coupe last year...

nogoodname 02-17-2009 11:12 AM

Hopefully

blacknbean 02-17-2009 12:30 PM

i usually compare the numbers that they get ie 1/4 mi, braking, slalom. their reviews are more geared toward the conservative driver so im not looking foward to much praise.

I count the hours to Goss' Garage every week!! :drama:

Thanks for the heads up!

nogoodname 02-17-2009 08:38 PM

^^^ wow...Goss's garage has some good info but only lasts like 3 mins

s2kap2 02-17-2009 09:40 PM

Motorweek used to be very in depth, talking about technical details that would leave my wife saying "dual overhead what???" but then at some point it went to "how many cup holders does this minivan have?"

nogoodname 02-18-2009 08:55 AM

^^ and how to clean cup holders with the right vacuum attachment

sbkim 02-21-2009 10:44 AM

They just posted info:

MotorWeek: Road Test

0-60 mph: 5.1 seconds

1/4 mile: 13.7 seconds @ 105 mph

SoCal 370Z 02-21-2009 11:26 AM

Motorweek lauded praises upon the 370Z.

I didn't watch the show, but according to the article it seems they tested a Touring model w/ Sport. Almost all the car mags tested a Base w/ Sport. So it's good to know that a Touring, which is about 46 lbs heavier than the Base, still achieves similar numbers.

I still like MotorTrends 4.7 secs to 60 and 13.3 1/4 mi the best. Hoping when the comparison tests begin other mags will get similar times.

damn...i missed it today....i slept in

does it replay tomorrow?? i think it used to

"The Nissan 370Z is much more than just retro-cool. It rockets back to what sport cars were meant to be: Eye catching and nothing but fun to drive. It is, in a word , amazing!"

Nice.

If Motorweek gets a 5.1 0-60, that's good news. They tend to be about .2 sec off of their times compared to most. I'd like to know what elevation they test at. That could well be the difference.

travisjb 02-22-2009 05:14 PM

i use to live in maryland where they test and are located... it is in owens mills if i remember correctly... couldn't be more than 1,000 above msl, prob less

travisjb 02-22-2009 05:17 PM

somewhere around here

1000 ft = about a .1 loss.

A really cool online calculator that is a bit more refined than most:
