How the 370z Sport SHOULD look factory.

I feel these are small, inexpensive changes that I think should come standard when you order the 370z Sport.

Makes the car look much cleaner and sportier in my opinion, I will post better pics tomorrow, just used the camera phone and crappy overcast day today for these pics.

Something as simple as colour matched doorhandles, and red calipers makes a world of difference IMO.

zfokaiz 02-20-2010 07:46 PM

hose door handles do look sick but idk how it would look on say a blue z like mine.

gnarf 02-20-2010 07:56 PM

what a GREAT improvement!!!

Endgame 02-20-2010 09:26 PM

That looks like the camo Z that was running around Germany and on the Clevland track here in the US.... I like...

i agree with that

Jjaden 02-20-2010 10:43 PM

I'm glad you guys like it. I can see about other colours such as the blue perhaps being an issue with the door handles.

Next on the list for cosmetics is the have the front and rear Nissan Badges removed and filled.

I plan to clean the car up as much as possible and make it sleek.

After the badges I am having some headlight mods done and then I can begin adding performance mods..

Mike 02-20-2010 10:54 PM

I made my handles black too, but my street calipers are orange and track ones black.

The AE Z comes with red ones though.

ducky 02-20-2010 11:37 PM

I would love to see someone with blue matching handles. I asked the guy that did my window tints. He told me that i would cost me $600 to get them painted..In my head im thinking are you _______crazy?

Wow, the guy I took mine to charged me 160$ and did an amazing job.

Xan 02-20-2010 11:58 PM

 Agreed, That's what it should look like, but I'm happy that it doesn't look like that from the factory.

Doing it yourself makes it more unique!

chuckd05 02-21-2010 12:12 AM

why no sport 19s ?

Roger that. I am amazed at just how great the 370z is in even heavy snow with a set of 18's/Blizzaks.

Haven't decided if I'll powdercoat the Ray's or not when they go back on in the
spring.

I am really liking the look of black wheels on a MB 370z.

Xan 02-21-2010 12:26 AM

Did you get the red calipers color matched to the 40th an?

schrute 02-21-2010 02:23 AM

Nice job Jjaden... looking good

It would be nice as an option...the Black Z

I actually happen to like the look of my Z, Blilliant Silver with stock wheels, door handles. Along with the headlights, all the silver accents make my eyeballs dance. To each his own, we have one of the most beautiful cars made at any price .

Murdered out looks sweet! All you gotta do now is get the head/tail lights tinted and emblems and your good to go.

Thank you, it was your pics that made me go for the OEM 18's powdercoated black for winter wheels.

I wasn't able to get an exact paint code, but I showed multiple pics to my body shop and they matched what they felt was as close as possible.

No denying the chrome painted handles look really good on the Silver Z, I just felt it really took away from the lines of the MB 370z.

IMO.

Should have said IMHO. Purely subjective.

In my "humble" opinion, I don't like body color-matched door handles. They are trim items and should be different from the body color. Now, I'll probably get flamed for this but here goes...

Having the entire car be one color (please read: entire car), it kind of looks like a cheap chevy pick-up from the late eighties.

(flame away)

Hey no worries, to each their own.

I could have lived with a sleek chrome door handle had they been the size and shape of the GTR / Aston Martin door handle, but IMHO they are a big clunky piece that takes away from the lines of the car.

You are very right in saying everything is subjective, particularly where appearance is concerned.

I specifically went red on the calipers to add some contrast, when I blacked out the door handles. I'll also be having some work done on the headlights to add some more red contrast into the car.

Hopefully it all works out the way I have envisioned.

NYBladeZ 02-22-2010 03:28 PM

I definitely 2nd the red brake calipers

xiven 02-22-2010 03:29 PM

if it looked like that, i would not have bought it. just my opinion though.

Jeffblue 02-24-2010 09:35 AM

This is definitely one of my favorite Z's that i've seen. looks awesome.

Matt 02-24-2010 10:03 AM

370zSteve's is the best looking Z in this thread. I'm not a big fan of the "murdered out" look, if that's what the kids are calling these days.

To each their own! GJ getting it how *YOU* want it though, that's the important thing!

that's ghetto.

it looks good. you have the right idea with the contrast. i like how the tail lights and brakes pop.

i'm not a fan of the rectangular outline around the nissan logo on the brakes. i wouldve painted it all red and added the logo as a decal later, or painted it on with a stencil and cleared it so it doesnt chip. im very picky though. it looks good from far but as you get close it looks a little hurried.

the job on the handles look awesome. on my pg, i like the silver contrast of the wheels and handles, so i don't think this as a "stock" option would work for everyone. but definitely works on the black.

vipor 02-24-2010 11:39 AM

Calipers + Tails = win

Love how they tie in together

gh0st3794 02-28-2010 06:01 PM

Whatever happened with the Aston Martin wheels?

Good question.

I was VERY disappointed that Aston Martin would have said that ordering the DBS wheels and mouting them on the DB9 would be no problem, and then later said this was not doable.

We found this out 3 weeks ago when we got a call and were told we would be refunded the amount we had put down for the DBS wheels because despite the fact the bolt pattern matches the center of the wheel is not the same diameter and won't fit the DB9 properly.

I may still get them as my girlfriend is looking at possible alternatives for the DB9 in which case her stock DB9 wheels will revert to me, but either way we won't bother pursuing this until spring. The dealership is storing the Aston until the end of April.
