what was she trying to shoot with? i don't recall ever picking up anyone else's camera and having issues shooting. i shoot canon but have picked up d300's and taken right to them other than having to remember everything's backwords lol (zoom is counter clockwise, the light meter is inverted and therefore the right index finger scroll is inverted, etc compared to my 5D). what lens was being used?

I dont remember what it was I think Nikon. I picked it up and had no problem. I think the issue she was having was she was fighting the auto focus. The nikon's if in the wrong mode dont always pick the right focal point for the shot when in auto focus. I prefer manual rather than auto focus.

yea when doing a setup shot like this i used to as well, till i figured out how to use AF properly (which AF mode to be in that is). as long as you have enough light for the AF processor to find contrast to lock in on, it will be spot on if you have a good lens. sometimes a lens can be a little "off" or soft if not calibrated correctly, especially if it's been dropped. my L-glass lenses are crisp so therefore i never use manual focus usually.

I'm curious as to how you'll be messing with the VVEL, once you run a 4.5L stroked engine and so much boost the stock VVEL settings will just choke your engine. Do you have any info on that which you can share? :D
