This maybe a problem no-one can solve literally !!!

I have tried everything the manual has told me to program home link to my garage. The garage motor has a learn button I've done many ways does anyone out there know how to get this darn thing to work I'm tired of getting out of the car !!!!!!! Lmao I got a fully loaded Z for a reason so I don't have to buy stupid garage door openers and etc...

I thought I read something about a switch in the fuse box that the dealer is supposed to flip on for delivery to the customer but sometimes they forget. Not sure if our '09s have it but though.

Still haven't gotten mine to work either.

Naum16 03-26-2013 11:17 PM

So far no one I've ever talked to or tired to program has not had any success. It would be nice if someone could figure it out

I'll search for you. There was a post about homelink issues approximately 6 posts down.

Really? It's easy! Do you have a garage door opener remote? You just hold a memory button down on the mirror until it flashes, and then press open the garage with the remote. The mirror should recognize the signal just like that. Try different timing of the presses if you're having trouble.

chknhawk 03-27-2013 03:52 AM

I second that motion. Works pretty much the same on all Nissan autos.

If you have an older garage door opener, it may not be compatible with the car. I had to buy a new remote module for my opener (at least 25 yo) before it would work with the Z. Something about the security signals that mine didn't have.

I followed the instructions which called for pressing the purple learn button on the opener itself! May not make a difference but I have to hold the mirror button in until the door starts to open!

Youtube was more helpful for me when programing mine. Give it a look. And also, don't forget to erase the homelike memory just in case something else is stored. Good luck

THAT..... :iagree:

I had the same trouble with one of my 3 garage doors, needed to erase the codes in the opener. Press and hold the purple button on the opener until the LED goes off, than just press the button, and within 30 seconds press and hold the button on your mirror to program. Should work now. :driving:

I don't have a garage remote opener that's why I wanna program my home link. I click the learn button on the garage door motor but never seems to find the signal. Starting to give up

Call the garage door opener company. Some of the newer ones have codes outside the normal range of HomeLink.

I live in a town home community where two phases were built six months apart. For some reason, Phase II has a different garage door opener that no one has been able to open via HomeLink.

Mine hooked up fine. We were even able to get a neighbor's car to open my garage door, so it's not a HomeLink problem.

Thanks ill give it a try maybe that's the problem

Suggestion!!

Hey Naum16!!
I think my suggestion might help you why don't don't you try to reprogram it??
This would definitely help you :) :)
If talking about me then I normally used to reprogram it when ever I used to face any kind of problem!!

zakimak 04-24-2013 10:07 PM

Scrolling code?.. if that's the case there should be a learning button on the garage opener that you must press in order for it to learn the sequence of the home link after you've already program it with the remote

You need to have the garage door opener (remote) to program the homelink. It goes off of the signal the garage door remote sends and then mimics it which is how it opens your garage door. The way to program it requires you to hold and press the garage door remote and the homelink at the same time, while next to each other in the car. That's why you're not finding a signal when you try to program it - you need the remote to do it.

It's made to be a replacement for the remote or a connivence - like if you have a two car garage and one remote, you can program your 370z and leave the remote in your other car to use. It's not designed to be programed without a remote on hand.

I agree, not sure what the manual says but I needed to do it like this as well as the learn button. I was doing 2 cars at the same time so it got a little confusing but it did eventually work.
To OP you do have to hold homelink button down for 1 or 2 seconds to get the door to open and for me if you're too far away it won't work either.
