Is Voltage Stabilizer a necessity or waste of money?
 

Does it really do what it's promise to do? Is it necessary? I live in AZ, Summer 110+ heat is coming, which means I'll turn my radio and crank my AC like crazy at the same time. Any suggestions?

Your system will be fine. Honestly, these cars run even higher voltage than necessary. You should check out the AZ threads in the Western Region section and try to join us for some meets. A few big ones are coming up. :tup:

You have a brand new car with good ground wires... seriously, not worth it unless you are running some kind of incredibly power draining amp or something.

Voltage stabilizer? What would you need that for?

The 370Z has a crazy strong alternator, something like 130 or 150 amps, which is more than enough to power whatever. My old Honda had a 90 amp alternator and I strained the **** out of it when I used to compete in car audio.

I dynoed it on my 350, didnt make any difference

I think it's not necessary,so many people don't have it and their cars run well.

. Since I wasn't sure what they promised to do, I did a Q&D search on EBay and Amazon to find out. In a nutshell, no.
. If well designed and constructed, they shouldn't do any harm, but they won't do much good, either. They certainly will not live up to some of the wilder claims.
. They _might_ provide some benefit in a car with a marginal electrical system, but putting in the proper parts (ie, big enough alternator) and cleaning the connections will probably do more to help the situation.
. If one will do your system some good, you have other problems that need to be addressed that will probably obviate the need for a stabilizer.
. Not in a stock 370Z and wouldn't be worthwhile in any vehicle I can think of. If you have "upgraded" the stereo or other electrical parts, there are better solutions to voltage droop than a stabilizer.
. Chill out and kick out the jams! ;)
