NO Owners Manual!!!

So, I asked the parts guy at my Nissan dealer if I could get an owners manual a day or two after I purchased my Z. He told me that I had to contact Nissan and that if I got on there site I could figure it out.

Well I am not seein' a damn thing and I searched the forums for someone else with this issue but I don't know what's going on.

I hope this isn't a dumb *** questions. Thanks for the help guys.:tiphat:

Did an owner's manual come with the vehicle you purchased or did you have to make an extra freakin' effort to get a damn owners manual after buying an upwards of $40K car?

370Zsteve 12-03-2009 09:35 PM

Did you already take possession of the Z?

An owners manual always comes with a new car. No exceptions.

And a warranty booklet

And other documentation. And a CD!

unreal. Kick that guy for me wtf

StillenZ 12-03-2009 09:40 PM

That's kind of what I was thinking. I thought it was crazy when he said I had to get online. Thanks again for the help.

While you guys are hopefully still here. I have done a ton of research on the warranty coverage and it seems like some (very few dealers) are giving "warranty" coverage if someone is to buy an oil cooler.

Well I can't get a good feel for warranty coverage on Stillen parts. I think I have everything possible but the high flow cats (as far as performance parts) and the parts guy told me that I "pretty much wouldn't be covered under warranty"? Help?

you are aware that the owner's manual is stored behind the passenger seat, right? there's a secondary glovebox thingie there.

StillenZ 12-03-2009 10:50 PM

Ya, I read that on a different website but no luck.

LETSGOEERS06 12-04-2009 08:33 AM

I would be the one guy to check there after reading that and go OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO my bad

FuszNissan 12-04-2009 12:35 PM

Go to the sales manager and explain that your vehilce came without an owners manual. It's scary that you didn't get the salesperson to go over it with you. You can order on from parts though. FYI

LETSGOEERS06 12-04-2009 01:20 PM

some dealerships only care about the money going into their accounts ::COUGH:: West Winsor Nissan NJ . I was lucky with my jeep and my eclipse (peruzzi in PA)... the dealers I bought them from were good but I would just go in ask to talk to the sales manager and tell him you have looked everywhere and cannot find it and dont remember ever seeing it. they will fix your issue. if not ebay one...

I bought the first z from my dealership...they had no idea where it was and I found it for them while doing the vehicle inspection...that would have been my suggestion but it looks like you had no luck.

Don't forget the Service Manual, number 6 post in this thread. You'll need it sooner or later.:tiphat:

Okay, lets get some things straight. Warranties that you buy cannot be voided by parts you add to your vehicle, pretty much no matter what. However, CLAIMS can be denied outright if and only if the parts that were installed DIRECTLY caused the issue at hand. If the transmission decides to fall out at a stop light, they can't deny a claim on the car b/c you have a full exhaust with no cats unless they can prove that the install required some fancy work that has to do w/ a transmission.

Hell, coming from a Subie world, I had a stage 3 WRX that a motor blew on and it was covered under warranty since the engine failure was not a direct result of my driving or my modifications but, mods that were previously done to the vehicle when I took ownership of it. I think I had to spend some cash on a new clutch and flywheel on it, that was it b/c I was around 80k miles on stock.

Sorry, when people talk about warranties, they always think everything under the sun will "void" it.

Okay, as for the owner's manual and paper work that you should have gotten. Is this your first new car? Owner's Manuals (on all the new and some used vehicles I have purchased in the last 5 years) did not have the manuals or anything else in them until I signed paperwork to take over those vehicles. It seems that, at least in my area, dealers don't want manuals damaged or stolen on vehicles. Yes, they do get stolen, oddly enough.

My suggestion would be to go back to your salesman and request all of the paperwork and a free shirt and hat. Hell, most salesmen will give you their business cards and a dealership card in the manual for your keeping so it seems that either you or the salesman were in a bit of a hurry to get the deal done and it was forgotten.

Sorry, my e-rage is high after traffic today. :p

When I bought my Z it had the manual from a 350Z. I just went back later on and asked my salesman for one from a 370, he apologized and pulled one out of another car on the lot. Sounds like the guy you talked to was being a little lazy.

StillenZ 12-07-2009 08:58 AM

Just got a manual from the dealer... Thanks for the help guys!!!

StillenZ 12-07-2009 04:27 PM

Got it!..never thought I'd be so excited about a Manual lol... what pretty pictures.

Svre46 09-25-2010 08:27 AM

My sales guy delivered mine to my house personally when I said I had every book but the owner’s manual in my car. I’m willing to bet he took it from another Z on the lot.

When you bought your car brand new, you should get the following:

2009 NISSAN 370Z OWNERS MANUAL PACKAGE CASE & "DVD": eBay Motors (item 390223336744 end time Oct-30-10 09:32:34 PDT)

49.00 Bucks? if you need it but I would have the dealership fork over 50 bucks so you can get it yourself since they didn't do the job? Or just call customer service NISSAN

OOOPS imma day late and a dollar short LOL... glad to see you got your manual
