I'm glad not many people know about it. I've even been asked what kind of Porsche I drive... lol.:rofl2:

Worst (newish) car I ever drove was the Versa I had as a rental in Hawaii the other year. God what a turd!:shakes head: No wonder nobody thinks about Nissan when they look for a performance car.

I kind of like the fact not many people have this car. Makes it a little more special. Especially gping to car shows and stuff I think fall nationals at raceway park there was me and maybe 3 other 370's..at the last biggest event of the season.

Yup....7 years in with essentially the same car. Can't get them excited. People want to read about the new models arriving.

Yes the new body style sentras are really very nice cars. My wife has the SL model with bose, nav, leather, backup camera, moonroof, huge trunk, and plenty of leg room in the back. The CVT transmission is weird but you can't beat 35 plus miles per gallon with them. I also think they are nicer than the altimas.

I rented one of the last generation Sentras a few years ago. Aside from it looking like a** it was a great little car. If the current generation is as good a car in the new packaging they ought to sell a ton of 'em.
OTOH, a friend of mine has a brand new Altima 3.5S (with the 6 and all the things that come with the 3.5s) Simply awesome. The new Sentras are real nice but not in the same league as the 3.5 Altimas, IMO.

I still remember the days when Nissan (Datsun) would up the ante on the Z every ?4? years (240, 260,280...).

I agree with what was mentioned by others: it's an old design. Back in 2009, the 370 was heavily advertised on TV and in the movie theaters. Heck, I really felt good when I could hear moviegoers raved about it.

Your very correct. Car sales truck sales have many factors/formulas for success and usually a combo of features that make it.

370z takes someone with some dough, cares less about any form of storage etc.

That no back seat whatsoever can be a killer for alot why alot of cheaper sports orientated cars have one.

That and think of the non enthusiast. Unless he just likes the 370z he can find alot of value for space/performance with say a WRX STI. Look at the 4's with Turbos that have pretty decent specs for what they charge for.

WTF mang... it's a f-king glorified sentra for poor people.

I guess you can't do that commercial with actual car enthusiasts. Can you imagine someone who has ever driven full speed on a track riding in a stock Altima and thinking it was a real race car? Nope! lol

We traded a 2000 Sentra with 48K miles on it for the Z in 2011. Pretty nice upgrade if you ask me :rofl2:

I'm glad I don't see Z commercials anywhere, funny thing is that I don't even remember seeing a Z in any of the F&F's movies as well ...correct me if I'm "rong" :driving:

Fast Five. They are trying the Porsche GT3RS on their mock parking garage track. Then Dom says they need something faster. Cue the chick driving a PW 370Z in the next scene :rofl2:

Too funny, I just watched that last night and chuckled at that part.

i rather pay the premium for 2 seats.

i want a sports car. not a sports car trying to be a sedan.

or a sedan trying to be a sports car (3 series, is350, c seris, cla series, s4 series etc etc etce tc)

each to their own.

is it fast? sure. is it fastest? no. does it turn? yes. fast? decently so. best? definitely not.

the z is one of those in the bunch cars. not super stellar at any one thing but has such a great combination of relatively good numbers to justify this as great.

oh and i read in an article about the rcf probably being one of the last big NA engines out there. I feel the same way about the VQ37... it's probably on the cusp of being the last iteration of NA for the foreseable future. I love FI but still... i have a huge appreciation for NA (thanks to initial D)

Yeah it seems a lot of cars are switching to smaller engine but turbo models.

ZeroZeta 01-26-2015 12:06 PM

"i want a sports car. not a sports car trying to be a sedan."

This all day. There are few two seater options and even fewer in the Z's price range.

Most people can't envision not having a backseat.
