Key Fob Protector

Where can I get one. I'm bumping the panic button all too often (sometimes scaring the crap out of myself when it happens, and finding my windows are rolled all the way down...

Don't put it in your pocket with other things. If it is the only thing in that pocket it shouldn't be so problematic?

Pheonix 10-08-2009 01:28 PM

I have other keys, and they press the buttons.

This is obviously your problem as I said!So you are saying you only have one pocket?Seperate the keys from the FOB and your problem is solved?

schrute 10-08-2009 07:28 PM

I want that fob protector too but can't justify the $80, so I have the fob on one end of my keyring and the keys on the other end. The fob hangs out of my pocket with the keys inside the pocket so the buttons don't get pressed. Works for me.

Sounds like the sensible thing to do me!Besides $80 is ridiculous especially when it is uncalled for?
Well hope we have talked some sense into this guys troublesome day!..lol!

I would imagine, that unless you have the fob on a string or chain, that you risk losing your keys.

I'd rather not lose my keys. FOB protector, I'll get one - lol, or make one.

kenchan 10-09-2009 11:32 AM

go to the container store and get a clear box for $2. lol ;)

It's obvious to me that your pants are similar to a cheap hotel......... no ballroom. Step away from the skinny jeans.

Are you sure your balls aren't pressing the key fob buttons while you aren't looking?

texmedic 10-09-2009 03:31 PM

hey I saw the key fob cover on ebay for 60$ a week or so ago. I'll see if I can find it again. I know its still pricey but still less than 80!

texmedic 10-09-2009 03:42 PM

well I scoured the devil named ebay and I couldnt find the cover, but unfortunately I bought something else. No one post anything that would entail me going on ebay and save me from myself!

No worries, same info was PM'd to me - that said, I'm looking for something that will be substantial enough to keep the buttons from being pushed, but accessible enough allow access, yet, fits well enough that it doesn't "slip out"

I think a leather mace/pepper-spray deally would work perfect...now that I think about it.

frost 10-09-2009 06:28 PM

If I had this problem while I was in the car, I would probably put my fob into fobgina.
The problem out of the car is a different story obviously.

Just so you know the $80 J-Spec one will not keep you from pressing the buttons. I have one and can tell you from experience that it still sometimes happens to me. Rarely, but it still happens when I wear my skinny jeans :bowrofl: No but seriously the raised 'Z' logo on the outside acts like a little button extension.

zero 10-09-2009 08:23 PM

I got this one for $6.99.

Is it plastic?

I might put mine on backwards, since I never need to push the buttons...

EDIT, noted, silicone rubber. Meh...

The wife tried to make something that would address the issue, damn good attempt, but the buttons still click, though harder to do...I think a simple modification could get it done ;)
