Correct, short rams are worse than stock. But CAIs show gains. The intake discussion pretty much boils down to either Stillen or MAF tubes and drop ins.

Since your budget is $1K buying second hand is your best option to get as many parts and your $ can stretch. There are a lot of high quality parts in the classified here, just use common sense when you're buying stuff online. And if you're in need of quick information on any parts, hit up DEpointfiveo with your questions, he is the forum catalog since he's owned just about 90% of parts ever produced for our car, and he NEVER sleeps LOL

He probably has all the parts you want in his warehouse. See if he'll do a package deal to move out some old inventory. :rofl2:

No. You pay the IRS, your government then launders it and pays companies like Halliburton or other defense industry or gives it to some country as aid with the requirement that they purchase weapons (defense industry) or food (Agribusinesses).

stillen use to do a deal buy an exhaust get a free stillen intakes

mishuko 12-12-2014 11:01 AM

i would be hesitant on buying an exhaust used especially if the person lives near the sea and or deals with winter.

something about salt and rust doing dmg on a microscopic level that you may not see.

intakes are one thing since they are generally protected and worst case is you need to get a new set of filters.

kenchan 12-12-2014 11:13 AM

i think one would have more worries than molecular level issues on exhaust surface oxidation...?

like getting his own garage and tools? :ugh2:

kenchan 12-12-2014 11:13 AM

maybe a nice ramp set like my brand new raceramps? ..

:rofl2: ;)

like your rhinos that you'll be putting up FS soon? =P

but actually that's a good point as well...

why not get intakes + tools?

or if you're OCD paint freak get a porter cable random orbital, some pads, some product (like meguiars) and some waxes, buckets, cloth, premium soaps etc etc etc.

Zoren 370 12-12-2014 11:46 AM

Why don't you just give the money to me for safe keeping save it for the rainy day and have this thread closed! Lol

the extensions i made are wood so didnt want to get them wet and warp.. :ugh:

Scott Stapp was given $1000 for upgrades once. It's not looking like it's going over too well. CHOOSE WISELY, YOUNG PADAWAN.

High Performance Exhaust

Since this is still ongoing...... Does adding a high performance exhaust require the engine (computers) to be retuned/reprogrammed?
Thanks

No

TexasChuck 12-12-2014 05:27 PM

Good Answer!

No! N O ! No.

totopo 12-12-2014 06:07 PM

Bah, how old are you? Young I assume? With $1000 I would do 2 HPDE track days with insurance. Best way to make your car faster is driver skill. I wish I started when I was younger.

You will change cars many times in a lifetime. Driving skill stays with you forever.

TexasChuck 12-12-2014 06:30 PM

Seriously underestimating the cost of HPDE lol...

Brake pads, fluid, oil cooler, event costs + insurance, hotel (maybe), food...**** is usually almost $1000 every time I go.

AutoX would be significantly more realistic for a noob.

I agree :). If you go to the track you will see the mods people do are 180 from what the sema/show people do.

Tires, wheels, cooling, brakes, suspension, weight. :)
