**** man,cut the guy some slack. He's new to a clutch. Maybe type something useful for him rather than wasting a post.
Op,just search man. Lots of helpful info, just gotta search, and or sift through the useless posts and find the useful ones.

I'm not sure why people think the clutch on this car is so horrible.

I think it's just a case of the on off feeling they get from the clutch pedal. The engagement window is very small on the 370 so unless they are good at perfectly controlling their left leg the clutch engagement will be very jerky compared to most other manual transmissions. I was surprised at first as well coming from a bmw with a manual but after a little leg calibration all shifts are smooth as butter, that and the RJM pedal system.

Don't press the clutch pedal all the way down, only use the top 50% of it, I too had been driving manual cars for a million years and could not get used to the Z, I now think it is one of the best clutch feels ever. Once you do that, it is absolutely effortless

Zoren 370 11-13-2014 10:35 PM

OP what made you buy a 370Z manual in the first place if you know yourself what you like about in a perfect DD and know about your limitations in driving a manual most specially in a sports car.
Did you buy it just because you want to be cool and like to be seen on a sports car but don't know how to drive it properly?

And excuse me whoever said we are jerks. We just know how to properly drive a sports car that is perfectly fine being a manual.

As far as I know a jerk is someone who buys a very expensive classy looking jeans but wears it backwards and complains that its to tight to the crotch.

First rule of Z club.. you don't talk about Z club.

Second rule of Z club... you don't complain about anything! The Z is perfect! PERFECT!!!!

Completely subjective. For me, the Z is a perfect daily driver too, as long as I don't need to carry more than one passenger, don't need to take the dog anywhere, it's not raining too hard, don't need to carry any suitcases, don't need to drive any dirt roads, and there's no snow on the ground. That means the Z is the perfect daily driver for me about 40% of my annual driving mileage. YMMV.

:icon18:
I couldn't think of a better DD.

To sum up my feelings about this Thread.

Sounds like you made a mistake and should've bought a G37 if the Z isn't doing it for you already.

Akurei 11-14-2014 10:23 AM

When you are trying to fast shift, especially in low gears normal driving, you are rocking your motor mounts and transmission mounts. What you are feeling is, your whole engine and transmission rocking, ever heard the engines exhaust as you do it? It makes the baaa baa baaaaaa, like somewhat of a rocking sound.

That is a good way to replace new motor mounts with new motor mounts :D. 1st through 3rd gear are very shorts gears, torquey. Whatever you want to call it. Smooth shifts, wait for rpms to go down before shifting or buy racing mounts

edub370 11-14-2014 10:59 AM

^^ motor mounts have nothing to do with this. o well. OP is gone anways.

end thread/

Zoren 370 11-14-2014 11:11 AM

^ yeah he went and traded his Z for a honda civic because the Z community are all bunch of jerks. Lol

Hey edub370 cant help but notice your Z had 326whp and 260 plus torque?
Thats a good number for a bolt on modification.

Who tuned your Z?

edub370 11-14-2014 11:20 AM

Modified by kansas city up here in KC. i kinda wanted to put on headers and the z1 mani and go for the all out bolt on hp record (only 16hp shy IIRC), but i just cant justify the money with the limited returns.

Zoren 370 11-14-2014 11:23 AM

You used uprev?

My friend could only get 303whp with full bolts on.

Anyway. This thread is over and done I guess we can talk other stuff before the lock. Lol

Akurei 11-14-2014 11:28 AM

Well he said 1 2 3 shifts are clunky, and then he said he tries to fast shift in regular daily driving. So I put two and two together, and that is the most likely culprit. /end thread ;)

kenchan 11-14-2014 11:35 AM

can a dead horse be further dead?

edub370 11-14-2014 11:35 AM

inexperience at driving a MT is the most likely culprit. not a random motor mount malfunction

BasementBobby 11-14-2014 01:22 PM

let's just say the clutch is "different". I mean I like it, but like others have said its either a love hate type of thing. if you just accept how the trans is you're going to enjoy the car. So what if it's a little loud or clunky, at the end of the day you're riding around in a 370z while most are not. Just drive it man. Put some mods on it, get a louder exhaust, intake, whatever you want. Make it yours.

jpkirk 11-14-2014 02:50 PM

I've always wanted to use this one.

:horse:

It's kinda tacky though appropriate.

Well, I've seen crazier things than resurrecting a dead horse. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...9617c0ee3d.jpg
