Not withstanding what the aggravation of driving the horrid 91 freeway does to people.

Own and moving to the coast at the same monthly spend for dwelling space in the IE vs OC just doesn't make sense.

To trade or not to trade that is the question... Seems like the overwhelming feeling in this group is to keep the Z. At this point I am leaning towards driving the thing until it dies. But great cases made by all.

Drive till it dies would be my vote, but if you want to change it up now and again get a bike, as was mentioned earlier, to use now and again.

Reviving from the dead... So still really on the fence here.

Next question is: put the z back to stock prior to trade in or what?

Here's what's on it (includes retail cost):
Stillen gen 3 - 540
Berk HFC - 495
Greddy exhaust - 1600
EvoR diffuser - 389
Swift Springs - 314
Hotchkis Sway bars - 350
SPL rear - 270
SPL front - 750

What percent of the total 4780 should I see back in selling to you wonderful folks on the forum?

What's the estimated cost for a shop to do the swap?

I know issues...

1 Attachment(s)
And to recap the trade would be going into a 14 Nismo Juke RS Attachment 100864

Have you thought about buying a motorcycle, they're cheap, get great gas mileage, have super cheap insurance, get great parking, and the best part freedom from the cage. Drive your Z on rainy days.

Yes considered it but looking to get 2 more seats not lose one ;) Also what driving this is the worth of the z now and the upcoming potential of the Z35/Q60

LAVA 02-28-2015 02:11 PM

Well GL and if you do decide to sell your parts, I'd love the CF rear diffuser

Maybe going that route... Pm me an offer I'll take it off for you right now

If you get a bike you're going to be ruined. As much as I love my 370 NISMO, I'd ditch it in a second if I had to choose between it or my Ducati 848:rolleyes:.

See that's the way I feel about the Z. everything I compare it to always comes up short.

LAVA 03-02-2015 09:04 AM

well then selling it will probably be a mistake

No I'm still looking to get some value out of it while waiting for the next generation to come out... Timings right you hit 100k on this car and it's worth almost nothing. Heart wrenching

Duc_Z09 03-02-2015 09:20 AM

Well if you do sell it let me know what you want for the Stillen Gen 3.

Someone please talk me out of this nonsense...

+ B16 or B18C1 or H22A = very fun and still economical...as long as you're not heavy footed on the gas ;)

OTW Z-Boy 03-23-2015 08:03 AM

FYI diffuser and GTR start button sold to LAVA

Dd nismo

I love my NISMO so much. The thrill and excitement of driving to and from work (42 miles round trip) and the stares and compliments daily, it would be hard for me to drive anything else knowing I have a NISMO parked in my garage. Run it till the wheels fall off, you paid for it.

Tax season (hint, hint)
Buy a hooptie and then alternate, one day the Z other day the hooptie.
I'm just trying to help you out of your agony. :stirthepot:

JC-Nismo 03-26-2015 12:55 PM

Well I feel your pain, owning a SRT8 for 8 years and dealing with $210 a week in gas for my 120 mile round trip commute back in 07-08 made me a believer that some of our toys are just not meant to be DD for the longer commutes IMO. Although I've never contemplated getting rid of it, I did make a Smart adjustment and now I just drive what I want, when I want to and still have fun without giving up my passion for cars. Blessed to be able to have 5 of my own, but the SmartCar is what burns up the road the most.

For example $20 in gas:

SRT8 = To the mailbox and back
Nismo= 1 round trip to work
VW CC= 1 and a half round trips to work
Lincoln LS = 1 round trip to work
SmartCar= All week :)

I would suggest this. Buy a beater. Just for driving to work, store, etc. I'm really close to doing this myself. Hate driving in traffic.

ZeeBabar 03-27-2015 02:42 PM

I have a Z and a Prius. I would recommend the Prius over any other car for long commutes. I can easily drive 500 miles before a fillup and that is what would make it a great car for you. Course, in heavy traffic where you are behind other cars and trucks, it easily will get you 54mpg. My best was 59 mpg while driving non-stop for 420 miles!!!

MagmaRed370z 03-27-2015 03:31 PM

I thought my 35 miles commute (Round trip) was painful. Yikes man, Takes a lot of dedication to your job to commute 150 miles.

OTW Z-Boy 03-27-2015 04:43 PM
