Need to park my Z for 6 months. Any problem?

Bought my 2014 Z this summer.

Have to park my Z for 6 months due to vacation aboard.

Is it going to do any damages to the car after 6 months of storage?

What should I do when I come back from the vacation?? any tips?

Thanks a lot.:p

Should be fine. Disconnect your battery, and fill up your gas tank.
Maybe add some gas stabelizer to your gas.

Will you be parking it in an open or closed garage?

Usually when my friends say their going on "vacation" and it's 6 plus months, that means locked up. Just sayin.

Some people on here barely have any mileage on their cars, you will have no issues letting it sit for 6 months.

I'm sure there's many Z's that have sat on dealer lots for longer than that... :stirthepot: :stirthepot: :stirthepot:

Thanks. I am already on vacation.

My z has been sitting in my garage for two months now

Miss her so much. Kinda worried about her sitting in garage alone :-(

It's underground parking.

I had only about 800miles on my z

It's painful not being able to drive her for 6months

I miss her every single day :-(((((((

Nice,my sister is a photographer. She just got picked by David Suzuki to do a photo shoot of his conference and some personal pics! Man,the amount of money to shell out for all that camera equipment is just insane!
Sorry,back on topic gentlemen. ;)

speration anxiety from not driving
power withdrawal from not getting that nice kick
figidity cause you want to crank that engine
cold sweats at night because you want to take her out on a cruise

=P or you know... you could get your car shipped to where you are ahahaha

The manual has some info about storing. If you are already two months in, sounds like you are just wondering what to expect when you get back. If you didn't disconnect the battery or set the extended storage switch (see manual) the battery will likely be dead. Six months is a long time for gas to sit around if it has not been treated. Your tires might be flat spotted etc. etc. Just be aware when you get back that you shouldn't just fire it up and expect all to be sweetness and light. Do a little maintenance before you road trip it.

Only thing I didn't see was out her up on jack stands, Will help with flat spots on the tires, The battery , Stabilizer ECT are all things I did storing my summer cars. :) all tho I would go and start it once every 5 days for 20 mins or so But I'm a weirdo LOL

i've heard putting it on jacks will stretch the suspension and let it hang causing potential premature wear on it....

i also see a lot of conflicting information in regarsd to flat spots as the newer tires have better compound composition that prevents the tire spots. but everyone has their ritual!

I store my car for Winter and probably most of summer as well :P :P

No issues at all.

Outside, car cover....

Indoors, car cover.....

;)
