Nissan SHIFT into Gear Event

Just came back from a Nissan SHIFT Into Gear Event being held at Ontario Place. Not a bad idea Nissan if you are reading this but a few notes might be taken:
1. It was great that you had hardtop and convertible 370Z's on display, especially with the Sport package available--it was sad that only the touring automatic with no sport package could be taken for an 80 second test drive.

2. It was great that you had so many Nissan staff available to answer questions about the cars--it was sad that nobody had a clue as to what colour combinations might be available in Canada on the 2010 coupe 370Z.

3. It was great that you had so many colours of the 370Z on display--too bad I still have yet to see what the Black Cherry looks like in person.

On a similar note, they did have a black 370Z on display, you could already see the stone chips had started to work their magic. So far, looks like I'll be staying with white on my 2010 order.

All in all a good effort but I came back not knowing anything more than when I went in and I still have not been able to test drive a standard with sport package. Guess I'll have to wait for delivery for that experience.

Were there a lot of people there? Did you have to wait long to take a car for a ride? Was the GT-R available for a test drive?

I went there yesterday. Was raining, and not too many people there. Test drive the gt-r? In your wildest dream. They had a couple there for display purposes only. Pretty much the only way to get to test drive a gt-r is to reach a deal with the dealer and pay him the deposit. Only then can you get the keys and get behind the wheel.

Another complaint I have to add to the OP is that the autocross track itself was very short and narrow with very sharp turns. There was no chance to actually experience the acceleration, braking, and handling of the cars. Also the selection of cars there left a bit to be desired. There was no altima with manual transmission. Only 1 z with the auto, no sport package. That despite that they had THREE versas, with auto, cvt, and manual

Then the advertisement was a lie. It said drive anything in Nissan's lineup. The last time I checked, the GT-R is in Nissan's lineup. What a crock of BS.

Was well attended when I was there first thing in the morning. They moved us through pretty fast.
