Unreleased Key Fob

So whatever happened to this keyfob? I love the way it looks and wish we could have had it. Anyone got the lowdown on it?

That didn't come on the US spec Z's because Nissan engineers were afraid that it's boxy shape would tear up our fobginas.

spearfish25 09-30-2009 07:58 PM

japanparts.com : PARTS DATABASE

That's a very good question in which I would also like the answer.

I believe that is because this Fob can do remote start, which they usually do not do on manual transmission cars.

Nick911sc 09-30-2009 09:01 PM

I'd love to see someone trying to remote start their car while it's parked on a hill in first gear...

I'm pretty sure you can still do it regardless of the transmission.

You can, I know people with manual transmissions with remote start systems, but you lose all warranty with the system usually as there are warning labels not to install to a manual car and if done it voids the warranty, etc.

fairladyZ34 09-30-2009 09:29 PM

you could remote start a manual. might not be a great idea but can do. looks like a cool FOB kinda OEM, JDM, and Aftermarket all in one

marcussoori 09-30-2009 10:07 PM

remote start fob, not a keyfob. for auto 370z only, and possibly only for the japanese 370. i emailed their contact email and was told they don't know if it will work on auto 370s in the usa. also, there are no directions in english, only japanese. they think the electrical voltage may be different for the japanese cars, but i sort of doubt this. anyways, this is all i could find out so far. search "remote start" and you'll find my post in one of the threads, giving more details...

370er 09-30-2009 10:15 PM

Yeah, not for M/T probably because of the remote engine start functionality. It won't fit in the fobgina anyway.

SgtGoldy 09-30-2009 10:16 PM

good to know before I bought one! lol

Who uses it anyway? My fobgina hasn't even had its cherry popped.

It looks smaller than the american fob.
