Windows suddenly opened?

I'am driving down the road in my new Z the other day and I all of a sudden without warnig let out a 10 lb. fart and the windows automatically opened.WOW!Thats a great feature.Has anyone had that happen to them?

SGTseanzie 09-30-2009 09:09 AM

Perhaps your fart was SO powerful, it depressed the unlock key for several seconds?

Blown32 09-30-2009 09:13 AM

I don't believe so.I always keep my keys in my front pocket and not the back.
If anything it should have put a rip in the seat. But nothing?

Just like bragging about blowing 32, he now brags about his gas problem...

nogoodname 09-30-2009 10:41 AM

it comes standard on American cars.... why do you think the rear fog is not functional on the American version....lol
they had to cut cost some where in order to provide the other feature

Well, one feature the car has that not many people know about is the FDD (fart deflection device) This probably bounced the fart shock wave right back to the front of your pocket!

I'm thinking you'd benefit from one of these -> Flatulence Filter Seat Cushions by GasBGon

NeedforZ 09-30-2009 10:43 PM

Don't you know the VOX can recognize farts and rolls down the windows automatically? It's in the manual... j/k

Nick911sc 09-30-2009 10:45 PM

Must be because our cars don't have that in cabin micro-filter!

WOW!I think you hit the nail on the head! Why didn't I think of that?

semtex 10-01-2009 10:20 AM

It would suck if you were going through an automatic car wash and let one rip, only for your windows to drop down while the water jets were spraying. Mind you, if you took your Z through an automatic wash, you'd kinda deserve it. :p

nogoodname 10-01-2009 10:37 AM

disrespected the Z.....lol

Your right there but Iwould never take it through any kind of auto wash and if by some senior moment I did I would do my farting prior to the wash!

Its quite simple. Nissan has developed a new Forced Induction system for the 370Z. Human powered forced induction is vented from the cabin into the engine bay. If the PSI gets too high the windows automatically roll down acting as a blow off valve. I think you'll find that the car normally runs at about 7 lbs of boost and since you had 10 lbs of "boost" you simply hit the limit of the blow off valve and activated it. No one has asked the question yet because no one was able to get the boost up over the 7 lbs mark..... congrats. Oh and you might want to keep a roll of TP in the car if you are playing with the boost incase you have some blow by....

I can't believe none of you idiots have ever heard of a cabin-based blow-off valve.
