New gunmetal color recommendations?
 

Hey everyone, I have been considering repainting my PG to a more darker gunmetal/metallic dark silver. The problem I am having is the fact that I want a color that will be unique to other gunmetal cars you see on the road. I like the PG color, but I think having a darker color will suit my car more. Has anyone seen any gunmetal color that stands out in person, or have any recommendations on any car that has a nice gunmetal coat? Any input on a custom color with a certain flakes, or even just a factory color on any other model would be great!! thanks in advance!

Checkout the graphite colors available on the Lamborghini and Audi R8. Can you say SICKKK!!? That's what I've always wanted especially with blacked out headlights.

If you really wanna make your car super super sick. IMO get a matte paint job!

matte black is over rated now....... matte white is cool...


i agree with lambo dark grey......or at least something like lexus dark grey

I think grey's in general are becoming overdone. I have a dark slate altima n it was nice last year. This year I'm considering another color to paint it. It seems every car on the road is some shade of grey,silver or white. I ordered the black cherry Z jus cuz its hard to find black cherry cars period.
I really pray that a bunch of companies don't start making black cherry cars. Lol. :)
But if I went gunmetal. I would probably choose that lambo one.

This is an awesome color. I like the slightly bluer hue in the gray. But notice the lighting in both pics. The lighting in these photos looks staged by the way that only certain parts of the car are facing the light source and the rest is in shadow. I think the PG looks better in the evening rather than the bright noon sun.

I saw a matte black 350z today. looked pretty cool.

i wouldnt mind a green color, but i am not sure if it goes with the car

anyone have suggestions on adding pearl into a medium dark gunmetal? I am still going towards a medium dark gunmetal, but I want there to be a shine when the lights hits it, so what kind of pearl would i add to that mixture?

i would do the paint job that the Lamborghini from the dark knight had with the same yellow break pads its so nasty

getting a lambo paint job would be raw but expensive. prob worth it tho.

IMO, I never really liked pearl. I think metal flakes are better especially on graphite.

looks much better than PG imo. PG seems a little too brownish for me, depending on the lighting of course. I wonder how close the new 2010 grey color is going to be to lambo/lexus/audi gunmetal.

I know a guy who traded many thousands of dollars worth of graphic design to a custom shop for a Lambo gray paint job on his VW. That color looked amazing, even on his POS GTI.

exactly what i wanted.. dark from far away and at night... but true gunmetal with pearl up close

just like you i tht the stock PG was nice.. but not dark enough for me.. and in some pictures in the sun, it could be mistaken for the brilliant silver color!!
