I was talking to NoModsJK about Lukas on Friday...
I was envious of a guy who's time was running out. Because he really cherished every extra minute, but he only wanted to spread the love with everyone.

nomodsjk 09-29-2014 06:47 PM

42 years is not enough time. My father was 47 and I was 23 so I was half of my fathers age when he passed. It really made me think if he knew when he was my age that his life was half over what would he had done differently?? You just never know when it could be your time. That's why I try my best to not sweat the small stuff and really appreciate those I care about. Being that close to death can bring life. I'm still angry, 7 years later, that he left me. I know that may sound selfish but its the truth. I can only imagine how his kids feel considering their young age. Its a shock, at least it was for me. Life is so damn unfair! The saying that only the good die young is sooooo true. As for cancer you can go f**k yourself! You took my father, grandfather, grandmother, two uncles and today a forum brother.

My condolences to his family and friends.

If someone is setting up a fund for flowers or other expenses, please post the details.

So sorry to hear about Lukas. :( He definitely inspired me to persevere no matter what I'm facing and his positive attitude about everything will be missed here.

So sorry to hear. Condolences to his family and friends :(

I would like to send flowers as well. In Lukas' honor, I will post something in the Freebies thread at this time :tiphat:

SouthArk370Z 09-29-2014 08:34 PM

May I suggest that a simple floral arrangement be sent and any other money collected be sent to the family (there's bound to be a lot of medical bills) or charities that they support? If any of the "regular" members will start a fund (or give their seal of approval), I would like to donate.

In the spirit of the thread... I'm going to ask Mrs. Lukas if I can post their PayPal address. If you feel the items you got were worth a lot, donate to her.

Off the record... I don't believe they have enough to pay for the funeral, or at least that's what I gathered the times I spoke to Lukas

nomodsjk 09-29-2014 08:48 PM

I'll send money and post something in the freebie thread as well. I'll look for the PayPal address

Maybe trips can set up a thread for contributions towards the family??

DEpointfive0 09-29-2014 09:05 PM

I don't know maybe enough about PayPal... But does putting their PayPal out there put them in any risk?

If it does... 90% of you guys have mine... And I can forward the money to her.

I have reached out to AK (by way of Trips) to get his password to pass along to his wife in case she wants to come on

She tried to access his forum account but couldn't do it.

I think the paypal idea is great. If all members have trust in me....
I will give my account and personally drive it to Ottawa by hand to give ALL contributions.

Ak Trips would have to make that call

SouthArk370Z 09-29-2014 09:31 PM

Another suggestion. I think it's great how so many people are trying to help but things are starting to get chaotic. If we can agree on one person to set up a fund or be a clearinghouse to receive payments it will avoid a lot of confusion, duplication of effort, &c.

Edit: Since DEpointfive0 Liked this, I'll nominate him. ;)

I didn't realize that you were so close; physically or emotionally. No offense to DE, but it sounds like you are the person for the job. If for no other reason than logistics.

But it really doesn't matter to me who does it. I trust about 75% of the people who have posted in this thread enough to send them my donation.
