09-10 Z owners, what is price for trading up.

If you are an 09-10 Z owner, and you could get a zero percent loan or had money to spare, what would be the maximum difference you would pay for
New car from

1. A base 2014 Z

2. A 2014 Z with a sports package

3. A 2014 with touring.

4. A 2012 touring with sports package and under 10,000 miles

5. You would not do a trade at any price.

Gotta decide by Friday night.

#5 for me. im happy with my 09 the way she is.

#4 and only if your engine was consuming oil and out of warranty.

Otherwise, stick with what you have.

It's a simple mathematical problem, but I don't have time to solve it until Saturday :o

I'd also like to add a #6. 2015 Nismo. That's the new hotness with its fancy body kit, seats, and final drive. If I were in the market for an "upgrade" that would be the one I pick.

You figure 09-10 is worth 20k trade in for a base with sport, 14 is 31k if you are lucky. that's a lot of money to pay for the same car, worse if you have a touring

#5.. Hold on to your 09 until the next gen is introduced.. you may want it - if not, you can save until then and probably get a better deal overall updating to a newer model year. OR... take your savings and dump it towards an FI kit.

# 5 2010 Nismo.........66,000 miles and 4 gallons of Mother's carnauba wax....

#5- not enough change since 2009 to warrant a trade on the same model.

I'd love to trade... Only if the dealer swapped my mods over

ZeeBabar 08-19-2014 10:32 PM

Only reason I am tempted to trade is that I bought my 2010 used with 23k miles ( put on 20k since) and never had a brand new one. I have also heard much about synchro mesh, bigger brakes and perhaps better handling. I also know that no other cars looks appeal to me (atleast from among those new under $30k). Moreover at 66 years, there are not going to be many low slung cars in my future.

I sold my 2009 NISMO and bought a 2014 NISMO last month. Awesome deal that I couldn't resist. Bought my 2009 used with 3,500 miles on it (no engine mods, but stereo was upgraded, and had a few scratches/road rash)...painful because it was the previous owner and not me who did it.

2014 with Bose system was an upgrade because of bigger brakes, oil cooler, small but nice interior upgrades and quieter ride than my 09.

Dont get me wrong, I love my 2014, but I wish I would have kept my 2009 for many reasons. And now "that anxiety" has returned. You know, the kind that when u go to the store and come out to see someone parked next to you (door dings), or the feeling when ur in public and don't have line of sight to ur car and feel u need to go check on ur car (for door dings), etc....

#5 for sure.

Save your money to buy a 2016 Touring/Sport.

At 66, I pictured myself leasing cars, not buying them. No maintenance, lower payments, and a new car every 3 years....

see no point in trading "up."

if you want to change the looks of the car or upgrade it, do it yourself.

Well, you have 10 years on me, but I've already decided I get what makes me happy...I vote you trade up for the 14, as I'm pretty sure they've just about perfected the Z34 frame models. Then let the Z35 come out and be out for 2-3 years to work out the kinks and decide if you want a 2018 Touring Sport or Nismo!

Full disclosure, I did buy a 2011 mustang 5.0 first year and had ZERO issues with it...so first year may work, but based on the early Z34 issues I've read just in this forum, personally I will hedge my bet a few years.
