dumb question No 3

I found a 2009 370z base AT
my dumb question is does it have LSD? or do you need it?

other than that the car is certified and good shape.

it has paddle shifters.. which i feel are useless.. but in bad weather maybe better control of the car?

Paddle shifters? I was not aware that a base 09 came with those. ..but no...the 09 base to my knowledge does not have the LSD.

Base models do not have an LSD, only sport models do. You don't need an LSD. No body ever NEEDS an LSD. It's all a matter of if you WANT an LSD.

Paddle shifters don't do anything other than allow you to control when the car shifts gears. They have no bearing on how much control you have over the car in inclement weather. If they're a distraction for you while driving they may even make things more dangerous to yourself and to those around you.

I used to have a thread for "dumb" questions... ;-(

Do you need an LSD? No. It will help improve traction in snow/ice though if you're going to be driving your Z in NY winters at all.

dumb question No 3

Having a LSD means both back wheels will get power. Without a LSD only one rear wheel will get power. Do what you will with that info it's certainly not needed. There is more to it but that's the simple version

I missed out on question #2.

Sorry for my ignorance. But paddle shifters can also be found on the auto lever correct? Its the + and - there.

That's not paddles; that's the stick/lever. But they do the same thing.
